Mr. Ma Jianling's 1954 Qin Dialect "Zhao's Orphan" was premiered by the Qin Dialect Troupe of Shaanxi Provincial Opera Research Institute, directed by Li Wenyu, Han Shengxiu, and Li Zhengmin, and the premiere version of the performance lineup is Zhao Yuping (Cheng Ying), Tian Denian (Zhao Dun), Cai Zhicheng (Zhao Shuo), Li Yingzhen (Princess Zhuang Ji), Ma Lanyu (Bu Feng), Li Jizu (Gongsun Pestle), Luo Shikui (Tu Anjia), Hu Zhengyou (Jin Linggong), etc. After the premiere, because of the controversy, "it didn't start" was shelved.
Cai Zhicheng, a famous Qin Xiang director and artist who played Zhao Shuo in many performance versions of the Shaanxi Provincial Opera Research Institute and was nicknamed "Old Horse", disclosed before his death that in 1958, the three major Qin classes entered Beijing, and the plays brought by the Shaanxi Provincial Opera Research Institute were the classic dramas "Bai Yutian" and "You West Lake". At the repeated request of Mr. Ma Jianling, "Zhao's Orphan" was given the opportunity to enter Beijing. When the troupe finished performing the two plays "Bai Yutian" and "Traveling to the West Lake" in Beijing, "the response was not as good as expected", and on the eve of the cast and crew being dejected and preparing to return to Xi'an, people from the literary and art circles in Beijing asked: "What other plays have you brought?" You can play it! ”
After some coordination, the controversial performance of "Zhao's Orphan" in Xi'an was unveiled at the China Youth Art Theater, which was an instant hit and caused a sensation. Since then, it has been performed in many theaters in the capital, and the reviews have been overwhelming and rave reviews. Especially Tu Anjia played by Luo Shikui, Qin Yan's unique superb performance, coupled with the wonderful use of opera Lingzi, has been highly praised by several Peking Opera celebrities - Hou Xirui came to the backstage on crutches, excitedly held Luo Shikui's hand, and praised "You played awesomely" again and again! At the reception banquet in Beijing, Qiu Shengrong, Yuan Shihai and Luo Shikui sat next to each other, and the gentle Qiu Shengrong praised Luo Shikui's performance: "Teacher Luo, you acted so well!" Qin Yan deserves to be a big drama! The enthusiastic Yuan Shihai hugged Luo Shikui and expressed his heart unabashedly: "Teacher Luo, it's amazing!" Qin Yan, amazing! ”
In 1959, Qin Yan entered Beijing again, and some of the actors in the play "Zhao's Orphan" were adjusted - Su Yumin (Cheng Ying), Yan Gengping (Zhao Dun), Cai Zhicheng (Zhao Shuo), Li Yingzhen (Princess Zhuang Ji), Ma Lanyu (Bu Feng), Liu Gengtian (Gongsun Pestle), Luo Shikui (Tu Anjia), ...... Each character has its own highlights and is frequently praised. After 1979, the Shaanxi Provincial Opera Research Institute rehearsed the play, starring Yi Zonghan, Hao Caifeng, Wei Baoshan, Hu Zhengyou, Huo Huijun, Yan Gengping, Cai Zhicheng, etc., which can be called a classic.
