It is expected that at about 7:40 Beijing time on May 12, 2024, the Long March-4C carrier rocket will be launched from station 9401 of the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to put the satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit.
The Long March-4C (CZ-4C) is a medium-sized liquid launch vehicle at room temperature, with a three-stage tandem configuration and a nitrous tetroxide/metadimethylhydrazine propellant as the main power. The third stage of the arrow has the ability of secondary start, and is mainly used for sun-synchronous orbit and low-earth orbit satellite launch missions.
The arrow is 48 meters long, with a diameter of 3.35 meters for the first and second stages, and 2.9 meters for the third stage, with a take-off mass of 250 tons, a take-off thrust of about 302 tons, and an altitude of 700 kilometers with a sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) capacity of 3 tons. At present, the test and launch period of the "Chang-4C" rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center is 15 days.
Since the successful first flight of the "Chang-4C" rocket on the morning of April 27, 2006, the rocket has carried out 53 launches, and at the same time, since the successful implementation of the 27th launch of the "Chang-4C" on the morning of October 5, 2019, the rocket has achieved 27 consecutive victories. This launch will be the first flight of the year for the "Chang-4C" and "Chang-4" series of rockets.
