In order to further implement the requirements of the "Provincial Procuratorate Criminal Prosecution Department's "Ten Hundred Thousand" Activity Plan for Grasping the Foundation, Strengthening Quality, and Improving Quality and Efficiency", improve the comprehensive quality of the procuratorial talent team and the lawyer's practice ability in the new era, promote the concept of a strong legal professional community between the procuratorate and the lawyer, and promote the construction of the rule of law in Qianjiang, on the morning of May 10, the Qianjiang Municipal People's Procuratorate and the Qianjiang Municipal Bureau of Justice jointly held the second Qianjiang City Public Prosecutor and Lawyer Debate Competition.
Liu Miaomiao, deputy secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and deputy director of the Municipal Supervision Commission, Wang Jun, member of the party group and vice president of the Municipal Court, Chang Li, member of the party group and deputy procurator general of the Municipal Procuratorate, Zhu Fujun, member of the party group and deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Justice, Zhou Yanyan, director of the acting working committee of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Wang Tao, deputy editor-in-chief of the Municipal Financial Media Center, and Zou Youjun, member of the CPPCC, formed the competition review committee.
The competition takes the form of single confrontation and debate, which is divided into three stages: expressing opinions, free debate, and summarizing statements, and each contestant on the prosecution and defense sides is scored by the judges on the spot.
On the field, the prosecution and defense conducted fierce debates on the application of law in the cases around carefully selected cases, presenting a feast of legal speculation for the audience. Whether it is the debate skills of quoting scriptures and quoting from the classics, or the ability to think quickly and logically, the audience can appreciate the rigorous thinking, quick response and profound heritage of legal people.
After the debate, Zhu Fujun, member of the party group and deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Justice, commented on the competition from the perspectives of legal analysis, debate skills and improvement directions, saying that the debate competition not only provided a platform for prosecutors and lawyers to show their talents, exchange and learn, but also promoted the benign interaction and cooperation between prosecutors and lawyers, so that prosecutors and lawyers can know their shortcomings, know how to forge ahead, and promote cooperation with one heart and one win with consensus in the future.
In this debate competition, two best debaters, two excellent debaters and two winning debaters were selected.

Liu Hongjiang, deputy secretary of the party group and deputy procurator general of the Qianjiang Municipal People's Procuratorate, presented the winning debater award to Yang Chunyuan (assistant procurator) and Li Xuemei (Hubei Jiuyun Law Firm).
Chen Bei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Procurator General of the Qianjiang Municipal People's Procuratorate, presented the Outstanding Debater Award to Wang Peicheng (Prosecutor) and Wu Tianyue (Hubei Jiuyun Law Firm).
Deng Jinqiang, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Procurator General of the Hanjiang Branch of the Hubei Provincial People's Procuratorate, presented the Best Debater Award to Li Fangyi (Prosecutor) and Chen Xiedong (Hubei Yuanlai Law Firm).
This debate competition has improved the ability of prosecutors and lawyers to respond and think in court, and demonstrated the good demeanor of procuratorial officers and lawyers in the new era. In the next step, the Qianjiang Municipal People's Procuratorate will use the competition to train and promote learning, persistently strengthen the team, improve quality, and train elite soldiers, and effectively transform the learning results into a strong driving force and quality support for actively performing duties in accordance with the law, and promote the high-quality development of Qianjiang procuratorial work.
