Recently, a missing person notice showed that Wang Moubin, a 21-year-old from Jiangxi, took a train to Xi'an on April 30 to travel to the Qinling Mountains at night and lost contact on May 1. Through browsing records and outdoor group searches, it all pointed to the top of the ice crystal.
On the morning of the 10th, members of the Xi'an Min'an Emergency Rescue Team who participated in the rescue told reporters that Wang Moubin's body was found at about 10 o'clock on May 9.
The team members said that they were found a few kilometers away from the top of the ice crystals, and it was presumed that they slipped in the rain and died of hypothermia.
It is reported that the ice crystal top is the highest point of the Qinling Vermilion Bird Taiping National Forest Park, with an altitude of 3,015 meters. Because the mountains in the park are part of the fold belt of the North Qinling Mountains, the tectonic changes are frequent and the rock metamorphism is strong, forming a large sea of rocks and many strange peaks. All the way to the top, you can see many landscapes such as primeval forests, ancient cedars, glacial relics, and wonders of the sea of clouds along the way.
The reporter searched and found that in 2023, the local government issued a notice to strengthen the closure and control of key areas in the Qinling Mountains. It is mentioned that the law enforcement supervision and closure control of the ice crystal top core protection area and "Internet celebrity check-in places" such as Guifeng Mountain and Jiangjun Mountain will be strengthened.
In October 2023, in order to effectively strengthen the ecological and environmental protection of the Qinling Mountains Core Conservation Area such as Ice Crystal Peaks, reduce the negative impact of human activities on the ecological environment of the core reserves, and effectively avoid casualties such as missing personnel and hypothermia caused by illegal crossing, the Hubei District of Xi'an City issued the "Notice on Complying with the Regulations on the Management of Crossing Mountaineering Activities in the Qinling Mountains".
