On May 10th, the "Red Pulpit in the Hutong" propaganda activity was launched in the Andingmen Street Guanzhong Central Axis Local Culture Museum. This event focused on the vivid practice of Xi Jinping's cultural thought in Dongcheng District, relying on the innovative form of "theoretical preaching + City walk", presenting a unique theoretical feast for the cadres and masses in the district.

The summer trees are shady and the flowers are blooming. The 700-year-old ancient building, Hong'en Temple, has been renovated for two years and ushered in the first summer after its official opening. The audience came to the lecture venue of this event early, the Guanzhong Museum in Hong'en Temple, and waited for the lecturers to start with great interest.
In the antique Hong'en concept, the "1+2" joint propaganda group, composed of 1 teacher from the Party School of Dongcheng District Party Committee and 2 lecturers from Andingmen Street, focused on the theme of "Continuing the Historical Context and Strengthening Cultural Confidence", and brought a theoretical lecture that took into account the depth of theory and the temperature of reality in easy-to-understand language. More than 40 people from Dongcheng District's government officials, new class people, resident representatives and heads of various street propaganda departments attended the event, which was broadcast through the "Beijing Dongcheng" APP and the "Civilization Practice Live Room" of the "Civilization Dongcheng" website.
Xu Shen, director of the Management Teaching and Research Office of the Party School of Dongcheng District Party Committee, gave an in-depth interpretation of Xi Jinping's cultural thought with the title of "Promoting Cultural Self-confidence and Self-improvement and Gathering the Majestic Power of Endeavor", and explained in detail a series of new ideas, new views and new assertions put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping on cultural construction.
Huang Yi, a new-class person from Andingmen Street, preached on the profound connotation of the new quality productive forces from his own unique "new" perspective, vividly showing the spiritual outlook of the new era of learning new ideas and making contributions in various fields and fronts.
Zhao Jinliang, a community resident from Andingmen Street, affectionately recounted the warmth and emotion he gained along the way from volunteering, and his story deeply touched all the audience, and tourists couldn't help but stop and listen.
"Today's theoretical preaching form is very novel and has a unique cultural flavor!" Uncle Chen, a resident of Andingmen Street Community, said after the lecture. "I grew up here as a child, I have seen the changes of the Bell and Drum Tower over the years, and I have just listened to the stories of the old neighborhood, which is particularly touching, and I will work with him to better spread our Hutong culture."

On-the-spot experience: Exploring the past and visiting the present
After the lecture, everyone in the bell and drum tower staff accompanied by the explanation, walk to the bell and drum tower was built in the ninth year of the Yuan Dynasty, as the Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasty three generations of time center, these two buildings more than 100 meters apart stand here more than 740 years ago. Immersed in it, recalling the changes of history, feeling the dialogue of time and space, and tasting the charm of culture, everyone opened a "City walk" with unique characteristics of Dongcheng.
The Bell and Drum Tower is an important point on the "historical context" learning route in the ""Li" Ringing Dongcheng - Dongcheng District Theoretical Learning Route Map" released by Dongcheng District last year. The map covers three theoretical learning routes of "historical context", "new look of the old city" and "red mark", which is a check-in road map composed of Dongcheng District to give full play to the advantages of regional resources and select landmark locations that reflect the vivid practice of Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, aiming to attract the majority of cadres and masses to enter history, feel the change, improve theoretical literacy, and constantly absorb the spiritual strength of the new era. As soon as the map was launched, it immediately aroused everyone's interest, and they all expressed that they would follow the map route to explore the East City in depth and feel the East City.
Polishing the preaching brand
Theory dissemination goes "heart" and "new"
"Red Forum in Hutong" is a series of propaganda activities carried out by Dongcheng District relying on the original "Red Forum" propaganda brand, in order to deeply study, publicize and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, and deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts. In the way of "grounding, steaming, and gathering popularity", the "red pulpit" was moved to the alleys, ancient courtyards, and cultural spaces of the hutongs, opening up the "last mile" of theory dissemination.
The "Red Pulpit in the Hutong" 2024 Key Session Arrangement was released at the event site, and 10 activities ran throughout the year, carefully selecting the most Dongcheng characteristic preaching locations, organizing the most professional preaching team, focusing on the party's innovative theory, based on face-to-face preaching, integrating on-site check-in research, and constantly innovating the form that the masses like to see, making the "theoretical meal" into "people's home-cooked food", so that the party's voice can reach thousands of households.
