Leica M12 camera rumors
It has been rumored that Leica will release three new M-system phones for its 70th anniversary this year, including the Leica M12 with 70 million pixels. Judging from the rumors of LeicaRumors, Leica's goal for the M12 this time is to keep the design simple, trying to reduce the number of mechanical parts used.
Here are the rumors about the Leica M12 camera:
- Compared to the M11, the Leica M12 will be 3mm smaller
- The viewfinder is yet to be determined: you might get a new hybrid viewfinder like the Fujifilm X100, or a 100% electronic viewfinder
- The ISO dial in the upper left corner of the M12 can be completely removed
- A new dial controlled with thumb can be introduced behind the shutter button,
- There is a large 3.9-inch screen on the back (the M11 has a 2.95-inch screen), and you might get a Leica TL-like touchscreen interface

The yen depreciated, and the price of the Aozhixin lens rose
JAPAN OKISHIN ANNOUNCED THAT FROM MAY 16, 2024, THE PRICE OF THE M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 7-14mm F2.8 AND PROM.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lenses will be adjusted by 38,500 yen each. The reason given by Okuzhixin is that because of the soaring cost of raw materials, manufacturing and logistics costs, although it is trying to maintain prices by improving productivity and rationalizing costs, it is currently a bit difficult to maintain prices by companies alone, so they have adjusted the prices of some goods.
This may be one of the reasons, but the other possible reason is that the yen has depreciated a lot against the dollar, and Japan needs to import raw materials from abroad, which has led to higher costs, and it has to raise product prices to maintain its current profits.
