Dad, stop doing couriers, okay?

author:Courier Observer

May 6 is an ordinary day, and it is also a festival for express logistics people.

"My dad is a courier, and he didn't play with me during the 5-day May Day holiday. Seeing other people's dads take their children to amusement parks, to travel, to eat good food, to buy new clothes...... But my dad ......."

The little girl said that I heard my father say that the market was not good this year, and the work pressure was very high, and I was very worried that my father would be exhausted one day.

Dad, stop doing couriers, okay?

Express delivery, a seemingly simple but vital industry, carries the hard work of countless grassroots personnel. The hardships they have endured have been bitter to the bones.

When you are immersed in the joy of online shopping, you can choose your favorite products with a click of the mouse, and enjoy the pleasure of "chopping hands". The operators of the warehouse are working overtime and staying up late to complete the sorting and packing in the mountains of goods, ensuring that every parcel leaving the warehouse can be accurate.

Subsequently, the courier brother braved the scorching heat and cold to deliver to you, almost all year round, every day in the morning and late back, pickup, sorting, delivery, recording, problem processing... Every express you receive is inseparable from the hard work of the little brothers.

When you lie down and rest after a busy day, the truck driver is still on the road. They drove trucks across mountains and rivers to deliver goods where they were going. Away from loved ones, the car is the "home" of mobility. Long hours of driving give lumbar spondylosis and hemorrhoids an opportunity.

While you're enjoying the comforts of air conditioning in the office or at home, sorters and operators are sweating on the job site. They are constantly loading, unloading, and sorting in a high-temperature environment, bearing a great physical burden, and Huoxiang Zhengqi water has become a commonplace this summer.

The hard work of the courier is all-round and without dead ends. Not only do they have to deal with physical exertion and exhaustion, but they also need to endure psychological stress and challenges.

Courier guy is the bridge between the customer and the company, they not only need to deal with a large number of problems and complaints in a limited time, but also catch the negative emotions of the customer, such as dissatisfaction, complaints, and anger, etc.

Assessment pressure, communication pressure, emotional pressure, this high-intensity work state may make them feel exhausted, unbearable, and even crying!

The stress of a courier at work often affects social life and interpersonal relationships, including getting along with partners, relationships with family members, etc. Some people in society think that the express delivery industry is a low-end, unskilled job, so they are prejudiced against couriers, and it is not uncommon to be misunderstood or disrespected.

Some people will say that what you are talking about is a grassroots position, and many courier bosses often go in and out of high-end clubs, drive luxury cars, live in villas, and are bright every day.

Indeed, in the past 30 years, a considerable number of courier owners have indeed become rich first. Only the listed companies of Three Links and One Reach, SF Express, Best, Debang, and Aneng have created many multimillionaires. But more of them are ordinary branch owners, who struggle every day in a bunch of KPIs such as various business volume indicators, warehouse indicators, timeliness assessment indicators, sign-off rates, etc.

But from another point of view, in the case of a bad economic environment, express delivery is still one of the rare growth industries. At least there is the relative freedom of time, low risk cash flow and other advantages, the express delivery industry belongs to the service industry, which determines the nature of its work, but this does not mean that in any case, there is no bottom line to accommodate or tolerate the unreasonable requirements of some customers.

In the face of the hard work and pressure, I believe that many couriers have had countless thoughts of leaving this industry, but each time they will choose to continue to persevere for various reasons.

If I don't do express delivery, everyone doesn't do express delivery, won't there be so many goods in China that no one will deliver?
