In recent years, in order to sell more alcohol and promote customer consumption, some operators of entertainment venues have extended their claws to minors and illegally profited from them in the form of "paid escorts". The Zaoyang City People's Court in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, recently announced three typical cases of organizing paid escorts for minors, and all nine defendants were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment.
On March 12, 2022, Mao, together with Gao and Yang, leased Wang's house to open a "concert hall in Zaoyang City", and engaged in entertainment venue business activities without applying for an entertainment business license.
In order to increase the profitability of the concert, Mao XX organized Guo XX, Gao XX, Yang XX and others to recruit female minors to accompany the concert for a fee on the grounds of high salaries and easy work, and was responsible for relevant training, attendance management and salary payment. During the operation of the concert hall, a number of female minors were recruited to serve as paid escorts in the club, the youngest of whom was only 13 years old.
After trial, the Zaoyang City People's Court found that the above-mentioned acts of defendants Mao XX, Gao XX, Guo XX, and Yang XX were organizational acts in the sense of the Criminal Law, obstructing social security order, and constituting the crime of organizing minors to carry out activities that violated the administration of public security, and sentenced them to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 1 to 9 months, and both were fined.
In another case heard by the Zaoyang Municipal People's Court, Xie XX, the operator of a commercial music bar in the city, and the store manager Liu XX, in order to improve the business efficiency of KTV, clearly knew that Gao XX, Wang XX, Du XX, Zhang XX and others were underage women, but still organized them to carry out paid escorts in the music bar, and charged 150 yuan/hour, from which they received a commission of 30 yuan/hour, and organized the management and attendance of female minor escorts, so as to obtain illegal benefits.

It's important to note that women aren't the only ones who do paid escorts. Since June 2023, Jin Moumou, together with Yang Moumou and Ge Moumou, has successively leased two local KTVs in Zaoyang City to engage in the operation of entertainment venues, with Jin Moumou and Yang Moumou serving as the person in charge respectively, and Ge Moumou serving as the administrative director.
After the opening of KTV, they successively recruited a number of male minors such as Yan Moumou, Zhi Moumou, Guan Moumou, Gao Moumou, Chen Moumou to provide paid escort services, so as to obtain high returns.
After trial, the Zaoyang Municipal People's Court sentenced the defendant Jin XX to 1 year and 3 months in prison and a fine of 7,000 yuan for the crime of organizing minors to carry out activities that violated the administration of public security; sentenced defendant Yang XX to 1 year and 1 month imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 yuan; Defendant Ge XX was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and fined 5,000 yuan.
