Born in the war-torn years
Tang Fangqin staggered from infancy and toddler into childhood, into youth, and witnessed the inhumanity of the Japanese army in Bo County, and the death of her father under the coercion of devil bayonets; witnessed the two brothers being captured by the Kuomintang army to fight the civil war. They experienced the scene of the liberated Bo County being decorated with lights and joy, and the unprecedented upsurge of support for the People's Liberation Army from the poor people who had turned over.
Under the leadership and guidance of the underground party organization and the school's progressive teachers, Tang Fangqin once sneaked into Boxian County in disguise to transmit military intelligence to our army; He once took to the streets with his classmates, distributing leaflets, sticking slogans, and giving speeches, actively promoting the Communist Party of China's propositions of opposing civil war, seeking peace, and ensuring people's livelihood. He vigorously encouraged the citizens to respond to the call of the new people's power to raise grain and grass, transport materials, sew military uniforms, and make military shoes; He took the initiative to participate in the support of the front and the care of the wounded of the People's Liberation Army, and supported the people's army to eliminate the Chiang bandits and win the battle.
Grew up in the people's army
In March 1949, the 2nd and 3rd Field Armies of the Chinese People's Liberation Army moved south and approached the Yangtze River. Tang Fangqin, a young girl who had just joined the army, did not fear or flinch, and with a high degree of class consciousness, enthusiasm for the revolutionary cause, and trust and loyalty to the Communist Party and the people's army, she participated in dozens of battles and battles. With the warmth of a woman's sisterhood and the spirit of active and meticulous work, she worked with her comrades to make countless wounded and sick patients receive meticulous care and return to the battlefield after recovery.
Serving the people of the frontier
In 1954, the vast majority of female soldiers of the Yunnan garrison were demobilized to local areas and became "southbound cadres" who participated in the socialist construction in the southwestern frontier of the motherland. Tang Fangqin was demobilized in the second half of 1955 and was assigned to serve as the head nurse of the obstetrics and gynecology department in the State People's Hospital, which had just been established in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
During the war, Tang Fangqin worked hard to complete the transformation from a common man to a soldier, and in peacetime, she worked hard to complete the transformation from a qualified soldier to a qualified local socialist builder and service provider, and at the same time, she changed from a qualified war wounded nurse to a qualified obstetrics and gynecology medical worker.
Bloom in the green barracks
In January 1963, Tang Fangqin enlisted in the army again and became a surgical doctor in the Second Medical Department of the 138 Field Hospital. In December 1965, Tang Fangqin was ordered to secretly go abroad to participate in the War to Resist the United States in Vietnam.
In her work, she is extremely strict and meticulous in everything, and no nurse or hygienist dares to be lax and sloppy, and everyone is in awe of her. He often led the medical team to climb mountains and wade through rivers to various units to tour medical treatment, and was highly praised by the troops.
Treating nurses and female soldiers, Tang Fangqin is particularly concerned and cared for. During her stay in Hoang Lien Son, she always shared a dormitory with the nurses in a collective dormitory made of steel frames, bamboo fences and thatch, and insisted on placing her bed by the door, no matter which nurse passed by her at night, she would quietly get up and put on her clothes and stand gently not far from the nurse to prevent accidents such as enemy sneak attacks.
Treating the wounded and sick, she regards their lives as her own, and never gives up until the rescue is not reached. Under Tang Fangqin's treatment and concern, many wounded people affectionately called her "Sister Tang" and "Aunt Tang".
Sacrificed on the battlefield of aid to Vietnam
In the early morning of July 21, 1967, Tang Fangqin, who was returning to her residence after the night shift, suddenly heard several gunshots from the medical center, and at the same time, she felt that there were rapid footsteps in the window next to Wang Zhonghua's bed. ”……
This shout made the murderer tremble. He hurriedly raised the barrel of the gun and aimed at Tang Fangqin, who was less than 8 meters away, and fired a burst of shots, and Tang Fangqin fell in a pool of blood with several bullets in his body.
This shout won Wang Zhonghua a fleeting opportunity to survive. This anti-Japanese veteran, at the moment when he woke up from the gunshot, rolled over and rolled into the dead corner under the bed.
With this shout, Tang Fangqin used her ordinary daughter body to avoid greater losses for the army and a family. Because Wang Zhonghua is not only Tang Fangqin's husband and father of four sons, but also the business leader in charge of medical treatment and war wounded treatment at the 138 Field Hospital.
