The park is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Youyi Street and Hetang Road in Jianye District, with Qingheyuan River on the north side of the plot and close to the Shanghai-Rong Expressway on the north side.
According to the project designer, before the renovation, the use efficiency of this plot was low, and it was almost a wasteland. Its green canopy density is as high as 95%, which is not conducive to the growth of seedlings, and most of the understory space is exposed loess and garbage is accumulated.

Some residents enclosed land along the coast and privately cultivated farmland, which seriously affected the ecological environment of the site itself. At the same time, the plot also has problems such as high-voltage line piers being covered by trees, lack of pedestrian roads and infrastructure, and completely missing the function of green space.

Through the organic combination of ecology, city and park, the renovation project will create a real-life "Firefly Forest", mainly from the aspects of node landscape, greening and coloring, runway, basic supporting facilities, etc., and transform the idle green space of the city into a spiritual paradise for leisure, recreation, fun and popular science.

The project respects the original seedling tone and adds color-leaved deciduous tree species, which not only beautifies the environment, but also promotes the healthy development of plants, transforming the original wasteland into a leisure space with pleasant scenery.

Around the green landscape, there are appreciable and playable art stakes, landscape tables, chairs, corridors, etc., which provide convenience for the leisure activity space and make it more popular and vibrant.
A 2.5-meter-wide health track has been added to the park, where surrounding residents can walk, exercise and communicate.
At the same time, both sides of the runway are equipped with seats, garbage cans, street lights (solar and electrical) and other facilities to ensure the basic needs of residents.
After the renovation is completed, the number of residents who come to the park to walk their dogs, walk their babies, exercise and relax has gradually increased.
