Tencent Auto News reported on May 9 that NIO's 500,000th production car rolled off the assembly line at NIO's second factory located in Xinqiao Intelligent Electric Vehicle Industrial Park in Hefei, Anhui Province. It took 72 months for the first NIO production car to roll off the assembly line on May 27, 2018. The 500,000th production model is the all-new ES8, and the owner is Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFLYTEK.

At the off-line ceremony, Li Bin, founder of NIO, said that from 2019 to the present, NIO has continued to rank first in China's high-end pure electric vehicle market with a transaction price of more than 300,000 yuan, becoming the epitome of China's automotive industry's technological and brand improvement.

For the second brand Ledao, which has attracted much attention, Li Bin said that Ledao Automobile will be released on May 15, International Family Day.

The products of the Ledao brand will be oriented to the mainstream family market, and the first model Ledao L60 will be benchmarked against Tesla Model Y, focusing on the 250,000-level family intelligent pure electric SUV market, Li Bin previously expected the monthly sales target of the Ledao brand to be 50,000 units.

According to official data, NIO had a strong sales performance in April 2024, with a total of 15,620 vehicles delivered, up 134.6% year-on-year.
