Finally, under laboratory tests at the Provincial People's Hospital, it was confirmed that the highly toxic paraquat in Mengmeng was detected at a concentration of 70 nanograms per milliliter, far exceeding the lethal level.
Looking back, the source of Mengmeng's poisoning was the so-called "cold medicine" that her brother-in-law Chen gave her on December 5.

After evaluation, the hospital determined that the only way to survive was to perform a double lung transplant for Mengmeng.
As soon as she learned that Mengmeng was poisoned by her brother-in-law, her father quickly called the police and controlled Chen.
The subsequent investigation found that Chen harbored a long-standing resentment and jealousy, which led to such a heinous atrocity.
The intervention of the police brought a turning point for Mengmeng's treatment, but this high-risk operation was expensive, and Mengmeng's family was not well-off.
