At the construction site of the Guanyin Temple Gate Project of Jingjiang Embankment, the reporter saw that the newly built gate had a new look, and the ecological slope protection on both sides of the river was lush and green, and only a few workers were currently working on the final greening work of the project.
The Guanyin Temple Gate is a set of gates composed of old and new gates. The old gate is an arch culvert type, which was completed in February 1960, and the new gate was completed in April 1962, which is a grade 1 hydraulic building, with the main function of irrigation and a design flow rate of 77m³/s. After many years of operation, there are many problems in the Guanyin Temple gate, and it is dismantled and rebuilt after expert identification.
The newly built Guanyin Temple gate is composed of a lock chamber, an 8-section embankment box culvert, a dissipation pool, a sea flood, an inlet and outlet retaining wall and other buildings, with a 3-hole layout, a floor elevation of 29.60m, and a design irrigation flow of 65.7m³. 380 concrete cast-in-place piles are set under the main structure of the culvert gate, and the new gate after reconstruction will effectively solve the problems related to the flood control safety of the Jingjiang embankment caused by the old gate.
Guanyin Temple Gate is the head of the Guanyin Temple irrigation area, mainly carrying the guarantee of water supply in the entire irrigation area, at the same time as the culvert gate on the Jingjiang River embankment also opens the role of flood control security, in May last year, the Guanyin Temple Gate successfully opened the gate to divert water, running for more than a year, the Guanyin Temple Gate covers the irrigation of 900,000 acres of farmland around it, and plays a key role in the regulation and control of water resources in the central urban area.
