Three years later, in 1822, Gong Zizhen splashed ink and gave poems to Song Xiangfeng. At the beginning of the poem, the scene of their first meeting is detailed. At that time, Gong Zizhen was cruising in the second mountain of Dongting on the shore of Taihu Lake and met Song Xiangfeng. Song Xiangfeng's hometown is close to Taihu Lake, so he set up a banquet to entertain Gong Zizhen, and the two had a long talk, discussed Confucianism and Taoism, and also traveled between the mountains and rivers.
Although Song Xiangfeng is 16 years older than Gong Zizhen, and as a master of Confucianism, he has no arrogance. He was humble and had a relationship with Gong Zizhen's peers, and this sincerity and mind made Gong Zizhen deeply admired. Such a love and agreement is really a great blessing in life.
"The king of the south of a hundred cities with books", as soon as this sentence came out, it was a high praise for Song Xiangfeng. He is a scholar of both China and the West, a rich collector of books, like a king sitting in the south, ruling the kingdom of knowledge. The four words "100 cities with books" are like a vivid picture, delicately outlining the elegance of this generation, compared with what we usually call "learning rich and five cars", it is simply a difference between cloud and mud.
We can't help but wonder, what kind of character can "embrace a hundred cities of books" and become the "king" who bathes in the fragrance of books and tastes the rhyme of ink? Exaggerated rhetorical devices are used here, but they leave endless room for the reader to reverie. From now on, if you want to praise others for their knowledge, you might as well abandon those clichés and give them directly as a gift of "100 cities with books".
