With the graduation season approaching, many colleges and universities have launched the moral education defense of graduates. On May 7, the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee of Hebei University issued the "Notice on Carrying out Moral Education Defense Work among 2024 Undergraduate Graduates", requiring each graduate to write a moral education thesis of more than 3,000 words based on his or her own growth experience, and hold a defense meeting in the class unit, fill in the "Graduate Moral Education Defense Evaluation Form" and put it into the student file.

The Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee of Hebei University said in the notice that the theme of the moral education defense of the 2024 undergraduate graduates is "Cultivating the Feelings of the Family and the Country and Writing the Chapter of Youth", which will be from now until June 20.

Hebei University requires all faculties and departments to attach great importance to it, do a good job in publicity and mobilization, clarify the purpose and importance of moral education defense, and require each graduate to write moral education papers based on their own growth experience. The essay can be written in a variety of styles such as narrative, prose, and argumentative essays, and the essay is required to be more than 3,000 words. Since 2006, Hebei University has incorporated moral education defense into its teaching plan and set it as a limited subject. The "Implementation Opinions on Moral Education Defense for Graduates of Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology" released in March 2020 stipulates that the evaluation of moral education defense results consists of two parts: students' moral education practice results (their scores account for 60% of the total scores) and moral education summary reports and on-site defense scores (scores account for 40% of the total scores), and the scores are divided into five grades: excellent (more than 90 points), good (80-89 points), medium (70-79 points), passing (60-69 points), and failing (less than 60 points). Students with a score of less than 60 points (failing) in the moral education defense will not be able to graduate and will be treated as completion.

In addition, starting from the 2003 graduates, Beijing Institute of Technology requires graduates to complete both dissertation defense and moral education defense. In April 2006, the "Implementation Measures for the Moral Education Defense of Undergraduate Students of Beijing Institute of Technology" stipulates that one of the expected goals of the moral education defense is to further enhance the initiative of the students in ideological and political work on the eve of the graduates' departure, to close the relationship between teachers and students and classmates, to channel all kinds of bad emotions among the students before leaving the school, and to enhance the graduates' love for the school.
