Knuchel Farben AG is a Swiss company that has been producing and developing innovative paints and varnishes in the southern foothills of the Jura Mountains since 1910. The new headquarters building was completed in 2023 and the interior design was planned, implemented and completed by the WSA design team in collaboration with Knuchel Farben AG.
An open, team-oriented corporate culture
In this case, the design uses "color" to construct different team areas, a free circular shape to create a quiet leisure space, and linear and rectangular elements to dominate the work area. The open-plan office area for the team is divided with soundproof glass to control the spread of sound. The acoustic ceiling above the workbench and the screen on the desk also reduce the reverberation time of the space. The combination of full-height acoustic glass walls and acoustic panels has proven to be ideal for creating good acoustics in a spacious, open-plan office environment.
Open space planning helps encourage dialogue among employees. However, in order to facilitate communication without disrupting others, a room set up near the team workstation can be used for autonomous coordination. In the spirit of flexible working, a communication room was created for this purpose, with a full-height floor-to-ceiling glass structure that maximizes natural light and spatial transparency.
The furniture combination with bar stools and high tables is also suitable for standing meetings, making it ideal for short, quick and efficient conversations. The deep black powder-coated fecoplan glass profile partition wall is complemented by a clean and efficient space performance. The interior plant landscape configuration is also part of the design concept, and they help to create a comfortable atmosphere that is friendly with nature.
Now in its third generation, the new headquarters is the ideal foundation for a successful family history. Talented people find attractive jobs here and benefit from an open, team-oriented corporate culture. Successful space planning supports the perfect realization of this concept.
