When you walk in the section from the old street to Leitu in Fule Village, Xiaoguan Township, the road surface is clean, and there is no white garbage and weeds on the roadside, which is all exchanged for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the old man Luo Shiquan.
From going out in the morning, weeding, tidying up the side ditch, digging up the soil, and returning home when it was almost dark, this is Luo Shiquan's "work" for the whole day, a hoe and a basket are his main tools. In the past 40 years, whether it is scorching heat or sun, wind and rain, he has never given up his road maintenance work, and he has never complained of being tired. Perennial insisted on cleaning the road, at first everyone did not understand him, his persistence and unrequited behavior seemed particularly "incompatible", and even many people thought that he became "stupid" because of the blow, but he was never afraid of strange eyes and scattered gossip, always insisted on his own affairs, and tried his best to maintain the road.
Luo Shiquan was born in Xiaoguan Township, Suiyang County in 1942, but at the age when he should have a happy family, harmony and happiness, he suffered a great change, his wife and only daughter died in 1971, and then he never married, so far alone. According to this situation, the village applied for Luo Shiquan to become a special recipient of special assistance for the disability and death of a rural only child and a five-guarantee household. Luo Shiquan, who felt the care of the party and the state, decided to do something practical and rediscover new beliefs and motivation for life.
Over the years, in the maintenance of the section from Fule Old Street to Leitu, Luo Shiquan has used many broken hoes and shovels. "I am very grateful to the party and the government, all I can do is clean the roads for the benefit of the people. Luo Shiquan's simple words were sonorous.
"He remembered the kindness of the party and the state all his life, but we were also worried about his health, and when he learned that we were going to assign the section of the road he was under his care to the rangers, he was not happy, until I told him that you are the head of this section of the road, and they all listen to you and will not rob this section of the road with you, and he was relieved.
