Dear Parents and Friends,

Hello!

Fading fragrance in April and thin summer in May, the annual "May Day" holiday is coming, according to the "Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2024". The "May Day" International Labor Day holiday arrangement is as follows: May 1 - May 5, a total of 5 days. Non-boarding schools will return to school on Monday, May 6, and boarding schools will return on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5.

In order for the children to have a safe, healthy and happy holiday, we hope that all parents will cooperate with the school and do a good job in the following safety education and supervision of their children!

1. Drowning prevention safety

During the holidays, parents must enhance their awareness of safety and guardianship, take responsibility for guardianship, and strengthen the education and management of their children: children are strictly required to abide by the "six prohibitions" of drowning prevention: do not swim in the water without permission, do not swim with others without authorization, do not swim without parental guidance, do not swim in waters without safety facilities and rescue personnel, do not swim in unfamiliar waters, and do not go into the water to rescue students who are not familiar with water. Parents should educate their children to call the police 110 in time when they encounter drowning people, and at the same time ask for help from nearby adults, and do not carry out rescue behaviors such as going into the water or holding hands without authorization.

2. Traffic safety

Combined with the "Notice on Strictly Prohibiting Students from Driving Motorcycles and Electric Bicycles on the Road in Violation of Regulations" jointly issued by the Office of the Yangzonghai Traffic Safety Management Committee and the Social Undertaking Bureau of the Kunming Yangzonghai Scenic Area Management Committee, children are taught to strictly abide by traffic rules.

1. Walk on the sidewalk, cross the street on the zebra crossing, and observe left and right to make sure it is safe to pass through. Do not play on the road, do not run red lights, do not climb over the traffic barrier, and obey the order when riding;

2. Under the age of 12 cannot ride a bicycle on the road, and under the age of 16 cannot ride an electric bicycle on the road;

3. When taking the bus, observe public order, wait in line, and do not get crowded when getting on and off the bus. Wear a seat belt when riding a bus or private car, and wear a helmet when riding a battery car. Refuse to travel in overcrowded vehicles and refuse to take illegally operated vehicles;

4. Be alert to the blind spot of the car, warn the child that the car is also dangerous, and the "three nos" should be remembered: do not run in front of the car, do not stay behind the car, and do not stand by the car. You can't let your guard down at home or in the community.

3. Travel safety

1. When parents take their children out, they must not let their children out of their sight, and they must prevent their children from being scattered by crowds in crowded places. Be sure to let your child remember their parents' names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.;

2. When parents take their children to play with amusement facilities, they should read the game instructions carefully and choose suitable amusement equipment according to the children's age, height and other requirements. In addition to helping children wear life jackets and other protective measures in accordance with relevant requirements, we should also pay attention to taking good care of children in case of accidents;

Fourth, home safety

1. Explain the fire hazards to your children, educate them not to play with fire, and not let them touch matches, lighters and other items alone at home. Tell your child not to move or dismantle wires, sockets and electrical equipment to avoid electrical injuries;

2. Tell children not to play in dangerous places such as balconies and windows, beware of falling from heights, and let children remember 110, 119, 120 and other alarm calls;

3. Keep scissors, awls, medicines, etc. out of the reach of children to avoid accidents;

4. Do not let children stay at home alone, and educate children not to open the door to strangers, and pay attention to anti-cheating, anti-theft, and anti-robbery.

5. Fire safety

1. When going out on the weekend, do a good job of "three clearances and three clearances": clean the kitchen, clear the balcony, clear the corridor, turn off the gas, turn off the power supply, and turn off the fire source.

2. Do not occupy or block safety exits, evacuation passages and fire truck passages.

3. Standardize the parking and charging of electric vehicles: do not park and charge indoors, do not enter the elevator for electric bicycles, and do not bring batteries back to indoor charging.

4. Standardize the use and management of gas: store no more than 7 bottles of liquefied gas, install a gas leakage alarm, replace the connecting pipe with a corrugated hose, extinguish the fire, and do not disassemble the gas device without permission.

5. Teach children not to play with matches, lighters and other ignition appliances at home or anywhere outdoors.

6. Do not smoke in mountainous areas or forest farms, and do not litter cigarette butts.

7. In shopping malls, restaurants, scenic spots and other places, pay attention to the location of safety exits, be familiar with the direction and route of escape, and understand the storage location and use of fire-fighting equipment.

8. Once a fire is found, it is necessary to extinguish the initial fire in time, and call the police immediately on 119 if the fire is large.

6. Network security

1. It is hoped that parents will set an example, not be addicted to the Internet, educate their children to develop good Internet habits, accompany their children to outdoor activities, participate in sports and other projects, so as to dilute the attraction of the Internet;

2. Educate children to surf the Internet healthily, greenly, civilly, and within a limited time, and obtain healthy and beneficial information from the Internet;

3. Be cautious in online dating, do not meet with netizens, do not believe rumors, do not spread rumors;

4. Protect personal and family information (especially ID cards, bank card numbers, addresses, etc.), do not be greedy for small gains, and beware of network and telecommunications fraud.

7. Safety in bad weather

1. During the holidays, parents should pay attention to weather forecasts and warning information in time, and educate and guide their children not to go out in windy, rainstorm and other weather;

2. Stay away from tall buildings and power supply facilities during thunderstorms, and stay away from dangerous areas such as rivers, ponds, and reservoirs to prevent dangers such as floods, lightning strikes, mudslides or landslides.

8. Food safety

1. Educate children to pay attention to food hygiene, eat regularly, eat on time, avoid too long intervals between meals, and do not overeat;

2. Do not buy expired, spoiled, odorous food and "three nos" food, do not drink raw water, do not eat fruits, wild fruits and foods from unknown sources, do not eat high-risk foods such as wild mushrooms, do not buy food sold at unlicensed stalls, and strictly prevent food poisoning.

9. Psychological safety

1. Remind children to arrange their work and rest time reasonably, complete holiday tasks in a planned manner every day, and do not surprise or procrastinate;

2. Parents should pay attention to their children's mental health, strengthen communication with their children, cultivate children's good interests and hobbies, alleviate children's anxiety due to learning and life problems, actively communicate and interact with children, and create a warm family atmosphere.

Parents and friends, the safety of children is inseparable from the support and cooperation of the family. Let's work together to ensure that children spend a healthy, civilized and safe May Day holiday, so that children can have a happy holiday and return to school safely!
