Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council further pointed out that, according to the previous regulations, a fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or a fine of NT$500,000 may be imposed.
Some Taiwan businessmen bluntly said that the expansion of the scope of the ban will cause a chilling effect.
