In terms of power, it can be confirmed that the new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system, because the charging cover can be seen at the position of the front fender, equipped with the same powertrain as BMW XM Label Red, composed of a 4.4T V8 engine and an electric motor, the comprehensive maximum power is expected to reach 728 horsepower, peak torque of 1030N·m, matched with an 8AT gearbox and four-wheel drive system, becoming the most powerful BMW M5 in history.
However, due to the addition of the plug-in hybrid system, the body weight of the new BMW M5 may increase by more than 454kg compared with the previous generation model, reaching 2435kg, which will be a certain challenge for handling, and it will be up to BMW's engineers to solve this problem.
