According to the "New York Post" local time on May 4, an Israeli girl who was kidnapped by Hamas and held for nearly two months told the camera about the experience that made her feel pain and fear.
Noga Weiss, 18, was abducted from her home by Hamas militants on October 7 last year and taken to Gaza until she was released 50 days later in a hostage exchange.
Relatively speaking, Noga is lucky, more than a hundred of her compatriots are still not free, and their fate is uncertain.
However, despite being released with her mother, Ciri, Noga has never been seen again, and her father, Ilan, who is 56, reportedly left home on the morning of October 7 to join the Kibbutz Emergency Team, but has not been heard from since. It was later determined that he had died tragically under the butcher's knife of Hamas on that day, and his body had been taken away.
Before leaving, Ilan let his wife and daughter hide in a safe house, but even then they did not escape.
"They started shooting at the door, about 40 shots, until they broke in. We saw the news on social media and learned what was going on. People message that their house is on fire and then there is no more news. ”
Heri told her daughter to hide under the bed, thinking that if the militants broke into the room, they would shoot herself first and not notice her presence. However, the result was unexpected, and she was taken prisoner.
Noga then slipped out of the house and tried to hide in a bush, but was soon found, allegedly in a kibbutz where she lived at the time, which was infested with Hamas militants.
Noga appeared on television with her sister Metar. Metar, 26, and Noga's other sister, Maya, who was living in an apartment elsewhere, were rescued by IDF soldiers after hiding in a safe house for 12 hours.
"About 40 terrorists surrounded me with Kalashnikovs. They tied my hands behind my back. When they took me away, I saw the bodies of people I knew in the kibbutz. A few minutes later, they put me in the car and started driving," Noga said in an interview.
While in detention, Noga encountered something that frightened her, and a member of Hamas actually proposed to her. "On the 14th day [of captivity], he gave me a ring, and I stayed with him until the 50th day. "He told me, 'Everybody will be released, but you'll stay here with me and have my children. ’”
When asked how he would respond to such a proposal, Noga said, "I pretend to laugh so he doesn't shoot me in the head." ”
A few days later, Noga's mother, Ciri, was brought to her, and the kidnappers told her bluntly that they had taken her mother over to get her approval for the marriage.
"I thought she was murdered, I thought I was alone. Suddenly, she was alive again, and I wasn't alone anymore," Noga recalled her joy.
Although Ciri was forced to agree to her daughter's marriage, she just didn't let go and kept yelling at the kidnapper, which was not an easy task.
Noga said that during her 50 days in captivity, she was constantly transferred to different homes, and the mood of those who guarded them was unpredictable: "One minute they joked with us, the next they raised their guns to please them for their lives." ”
"I didn't have experienced it and probably didn't understand the feeling of fear, and the thought was always in my head that if they got tired of it, they would shoot me or shoot me while I was sleeping. ”
Ciri and Noga's return to Israel as the first to be released as hostages gave them some relief, but Noga also said she was unable to mourn her father until all the hostages returned home.
Noga said that despite losing a lot of faith in the IDF because of her father's death and her own kidnapping with her mother, she would still enlist in May this year, as planned.
