School Overview //
Located in the central area of Xiongzhou (Maying Area), the Liuhe Experimental School project of Nanjing Normal University includes a primary school and a middle school, which is an important public service supporting facility to improve the livability of the central area of Xiongzhou.

The south side of Liuhe Experimental School of Nanjing Normal University is a small railway living corridor, the north side is the main road of Xiongxin Road, the east and west sides are high-quality urban residential areas, and the middle is the characteristic streets and alleys of Liuyou, with superior location conditions. The project covers a total area of about 92 acres, with a total construction area of about 59,000 square meters, with 4 tracks and 24 classes of primary schools, covering an area of about 41 acres and a construction area of about 25,000 square meters, and 24 classes of 8 tracks in middle schools, covering an area of about 51 acres and a construction area of about 34,000 square meters.

The planning and design of Liuhe Experimental School of Nanjing Normal University closely follows the theme of "Green Street, Building a Dream for the Future", on the basis of inheriting the regional cultural memory and the architectural concept of Nanjing Normal University, and closely following the changes in teaching methods, so as to provide students here with a comfortable, open and diversified green street-style campus.

Design Intention //
From a child-friendly design perspective, the project establishes a safer, positive and interactive three-dimensional composite "second growth space", allowing children to shuttle through it to carry out diverse sports and learning, so that playing, learning, exploration and other behaviors can occur anytime and anywhere, and each child can find their own secret corner.

Inherit the concept of characteristic streets and courtyards - air street courtyards
Continue the concept of characteristic streets and alleys in the planning, and at the same time inherit the regional culture, and excavate the memory fragments that leave the right - space extraction "cultural street".

Inheriting the architectural concept of Nanjing Normal University - space extraction "academy"
The Suiyuan Campus of Nanjing Normal University adopts the traditional Chinese palace-like architectural form and integrates Western architectural concepts, which has important historical and artistic value.
"Courtyard" is a teaching space with a sense of place.
The design softly integrates the concepts of "street" and "courtyard" into the campus planning, so as to establish a multi-dimensional and three-dimensional interesting activity scene, effectively promote the occurrence of a variety of learning, education and cultural exchanges, and strive to provide a comfortable, open and diversified green street-style campus for high-density urban communities.

Combined with the roof of the building, the sky street courtyard is designed for students to rest, play and communicate during class, and forms a multi-level mobile shared courtyard with the courtyard and playground.

Complex and diversified teaching space - children's thoughts are diverse and changeable, so the school provides children with a complex and diversified learning environment by designing more flexible educational spaces.
Ubiquitous Reading Space - Believing that the future of teaching behavior will be open, interactive and experiential, we hope to create a series of multi-form, multi-level and multi-scale learning scenarios to meet different modes of teaching behavior.

Multi-form sports scene - the ring of movement
Physical education is an important part of the future development of education, and the plan uses multiple elevations and various forms of field space to disperse and implant sports functions, and combine students' daily behavior lines to form a formal and informal sports environment, providing more possibilities for walking between classes.
Functional Layout //
The campus adopts an intensive layout, with the teaching building placed on the east side of the site and the outdoor sports field placed on the west side of the site, so as to clarify the functional partitions for later management.
The canteen, multi-function hall and gymnasium will be arranged in a centralized manner to save land and enrich the daily activities of teachers and students;
The main teaching rooms and offices are arranged on the second floor and above, so that the first floor forms a large overhead floor, which can be used to create an expressive street space.
