"Helldivers 2" announced yesterday that from May 6, new players of "Jedi Divers 2" Steam will need to bind a PSN account, and old players will receive a forced login prompt from May 30, and must bind a PSN account before June 4.
This move caused a lot of discontent among Steam players. As of press time, the move has resulted in more than 42,000 negative reviews on Steam, and the overall rating has dropped from 81% to 71%, and the last 30 days have only 44%.
Reasons for players' current dissatisfaction:
· Players said that PSN currently only operates in nearly 70 countries or regions around the world, which is different from Steam's global players, what should I do if there is no PSN service in the player's location, and the use of magic tools may be banned.
· Players in the UK say they will be asked to verify their age by using one of their phones, ID cards or face scans to sign up for a PSN account.
· Sony's official webpage shows that PSN is optional for PC games, which is different from the previous Steam announcement (Note: This page was changed a few hours ago to some games require a PSN account)
· Some of the official community managers did not understand what the players were doing and ridiculed them.
In response, Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game, the developer of Jedi Submarine 2, apologized on his personal Twitter, and Thomas Petersson, community manager of Jedi Submarine 2, said on Discord that it was Sony's decision, not theirs.
