Since coming to China in 2003, Chris has formed an indissoluble bond with Tai Chi. He came to Chenjiagou 4 times and systematically learned Taijiquan. In Chris's view, Chinese culture is broad and profound, and the quintessence of Chinese Taijiquan is even more obsessive. The first time he came to Chenjiagou, what bothered Chris the most was that there was a language communication barrier, and he couldn't speak Chinese, so he could only follow behind the teacher and carefully compare routines with one move.

In between learning and practicing Tai Chi, Chris made many new friends in Chenjiagou Village. He admires the Chinese learning ability very much. Over the years, the village's boxers, instructors and some tourists have been able to communicate with him proficiently in English, and Chris has learned simple Chinese and can inadvertently say the technical terms of Tai Chi. In his opinion, every time he comes to China, every time he comes to Chenjiagou, he has a different feeling, the rapid changes, and more and more recognition of Chinese culture, all make him feel that learning to practice Tai Chi is a very lucky and correct choice. In particular, in December 2020, UNESCO officially inscribed "Taijiquan" on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, further enhancing the influence of Taijiquan overseas. Tai Chi, which combines movement and static, rigidity and softness, has become a fashionable fitness method in foreign countries.

Chris learned Tai Chi with the intention of strengthening his body, but over time, Tai Chi has given him a new understanding of Chinese culture, and his obsession with Tai Chi is no longer limited to learning to keep fit, but also to further explore the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
