The Palestinian-Israeli "war" has spread to the United States, many American colleges and universities have fallen into chaos, and presidential candidates have also been arrested. Is this what the US Government calls "liberal democracy"? What is the attitude of the United Nations? Why is the chaos in the United States not conducive to Biden's re-election?
I don't know if you still remember the self-immolation incident of US servicemen in February this year, when Bushnell, an active member of the US Air Force, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy in the United States to protest the US Government's support for Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip. Although more than two months have passed since this incident, it is obvious that this is only the beginning of the chaos that has arisen in the United States. The latest news is that many schools in the United States have been plunged into chaos, including the University of Texas, Washington University in St. Louis, and Columbia University, where student demonstrations have erupted, and more and more students have learned about the United States' support for Israel, which has brought a painful disaster to civilians in the Gaza Strip, so they spontaneously support Palestine.
On April 30, Columbia University's pro-Palestinian student demonstrations escalated, with dozens of students occupying the school building and hanging Palestinian flags on the building in support of the Palestinian people and remembering the civilians killed in the current round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. One thing to say, while the behavior of these American students may be extreme, it at least shows one thing, and that is that they see the true face of the U.S. government. What is the true face? That is, the US Government pays lip service to allowing Israel to cease fire in Gaza, but in fact it continues to increase its military aid to Israel and opposes Palestine becoming a full-fledged member of the United Nations. These American students are just trying to get the U.S. government to stop supporting Israel and stand with the international community to promote a long-term ceasefire in Gaza through protests.
But the question is, will the U.S. government compromise with these students? Not at all. Whether it is US President Joe Biden or US House Speaker Johnson, in their opinion, the behavior of these students is absolutely wrong. Not only that, the US police have launched a large-scale arrest in these schools, and all students involved in supporting Palestine will be taken away by the police with their hands tied with ropes, and even the US police are equipped with riot gear to arrest these protesters, which is reminiscent of the protests that broke out during the Vietnam War. Among those arrested were a number of anti-Israel protesters outside the school, including the US Green Party presidential candidate Stan, who was arrested during the April 27 protests.
How ironic is this: The United States has always flaunted "freedom and democracy," but now Americans have lost even the most basic freedom of speech? Where is their freedom and democracy? The US Government is doing this just to deceive itself and others, and no matter how brutally it arrests these protesters, it will not be able to cover up the fact that the US Government is aiding and abetting the protesters, and it will only arouse the dissatisfaction of more people. The recent protests in the United States have shocked even the United Nations, but what is shocking is not the protest behavior of these students, but the violent law enforcement by the American police.
There is no doubt that the best way to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict must be through peaceful negotiations. The United States blindly favors Israel, and now the internal turmoil in the United States is a typical phenomenon that has ignited the flames, and the Biden administration's act of ordering the arrest of protesters will inevitably cause dissatisfaction among voters, which is undoubtedly asking for trouble. It is imperative that the Biden administration get back on track as soon as possible, and work with all parties to promote a ceasefire in Gaza and bring Israel to the negotiating table. Otherwise, the protests on campuses in the United States will be just the beginning, and the Biden administration itself will be the final embarrassment.
