Preface

During the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Shusheng passed through the Shaolin Temple in Songshan.

He had heard Xu Shiyou talk about his experience of practicing martial arts in Shaolin Temple, and he had also seen the scene of Xu Shiyou competing with his own guards.

When Wang Shusheng entered the Shaolin Temple, the abbot personally received him.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? The abbot replied: Lao Qu had enlightened his martial arts.

Wang Shusheng chatted with the abbot about Xu Shiyou's stories and uncovered some of Xu Shiyou's unknown experiences.

Xu Shiyou entered the Shaolin Temple

Xu Shiyou's hometown Xu Jiawa is a martial artist. The spring and autumn seasons of each year are the traditional martial arts training seasons.

In the generation of Xu Shiyou's father, Xu Cunren, the boxer hired by the village was called Lin Zijin. Every martial arts training season, Lin Zijin is uninvited.

Lin Zijin has practiced martial arts in Shaolin Temple for many years, and has learned the essence of Shaolin martial arts.

When Xu Shiyou was 6 years old, he worshiped Lin Zijin as his "godfather".

When Xu Shiyou was 8 years old, Lin Zijin came to Xujiawa to lead the villagers to practice martial arts as in previous years. During this period, he stayed at Xu Cunren's house as usual.

Under the guidance of Lin Zijin, Xu Shiyou was 6 years old and started boxing at the age of 7, and has learned several sets of Shaolin boxing techniques so far.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

After the villagers' martial arts training, Lin Zijin was also ready to leave. Before leaving, Xu Cunren set up a dinner party for Lin Zijin.

The two were brothers and sisters, and during the banquet, Xu Cunren said: "The Buddha of the West Heaven is as kind to my Xu family as a mountain, and my family can't repay it, I want to send a son to Shaolin Temple, I wonder if the eldest brother can help from it?"

Lin Zijin asked puzzledly: "Where do you start with this?"

Xu Cunren unhurriedly explained the reason: When Xu Shiyou was 6 years old, his grandmother fell seriously ill. But she was very superstitious and didn't take medicine, but insisted on burning incense and worshipping Buddha.

Perhaps because of the psychological effect, Xu Shiyou's grandmother's condition has improved. At this time, she said that she could not repay herself, but could only let her son and grandson repay her.

Who knew that the good times would not last long, and not long after, Xu Shiyou's grandmother fell ill in bed. She thought that she was not sincere enough and was suspicious all day long.

In order to fulfill the wishes of his elders, Xu Cunren decided to send his son Xu Shiyou to Shaolin Temple. In addition to the old lady's thoughts, this can also allow Xu Shiyou to learn Shaolin Kung Fu.

It's a win-win.

It was in this context that Xu Shiyou followed the "godfather" Lin Zijin to the Shaolin Temple.

When he arrived at Shaolin Temple, Lin Zijin led Xu Shiyou to a quaint courtyard and asked him to meet Master Su Ying and his senior brothers.

Since then, Xu Shiyou has lived here for 8 years. Xu Shiyou's kung fu was exercised in these 8 years.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

It is worth mentioning that his title of drinking expert was also cultivated at this time.

Monk Su Ying had to drink a few glasses every day, and every time he asked Xu Shiyou to accompany him. This is a preference for Xu Shiyou, but it also planted a bane.

Xu Shiyou has been addicted to alcohol since then, and he has not changed it for the rest of his life.

It is said that not long after coming out of Shaolin Temple, Xu Shiyou joined the Red Army. Since then, he has embarked on a new journey of his revolutionary cause.

Xu Shiyou competed with Wang Shusheng's guards

One day in May 1932, a meeting was held in Xinji, which was attended by Xu Shiyou, then the head of the 34th Regiment of the Red Fourth Front Army.

During the meeting, Wang Shusheng, deputy commander-in-chief of the Red Fourth Front Army, heard that Xu Shiyou's martial arts were powerful, but he hadn't seen how powerful it was!

So, he proposed that his guards He Fusheng and Xu Shiyou have a competition.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

He Fusheng's kung fu, Wang Shusheng is clear.

When He Fusheng was 10 years old, he worshipped the martial arts master Qiu Guyuan as his teacher, and after hard training, he became a good martial artist.

In 1931, He Fusheng, under the leadership of his master, joined Wang Shusheng's team. Because of his great ability, Wang Shusheng directly asked him to go over to be a guard and a martial arts instructor!

After the competition began, Xu Shiyou stepped forward, and He Fusheng had no choice but to greet him. After a few moves, He Fusheng saw that Xu Shiyou's chassis was solid, and his skills were by no means fancy.

At this time, Wang Shusheng saw that He Fusheng had been in a state of dodge out of respect for Xu Shiyou, so he asked He Fusheng to use all his strength to win Xu Shiyou, and rewarded two bullets.

Xu Shiyou was suddenly stimulated when he heard this cheering voice with obvious tendencies. So, he attacked first.

Xu Shiyou had been seriously injured before, and although he had recovered from his injuries, his martial arts would inevitably be compromised. At the end of the game, Xu Shiyou was knocked to the ground by He Fusheng.

Xu Shiyou generously admitted that He Fusheng's kung fu was higher than him. An officer who was watching the game told the truth.

He said:

"You, a monk, have just come out of the hospital, and you are weak and weak, how can you appear on the stage to compete?"

Wang Shusheng passed by the Shaolin Temple in Songshan and talked with the abbot

One day during the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Shusheng passed by Songshan Shaolin Temple. He had long heard that Xu Shiyou's kung fu was learned here, so he wanted to go in and have a visit.

At the entrance of the temple, what catches your eye is the three big characters of "Shaolin Temple", written by Emperor Qianlong himself, vigorous and vigorous, and it is a rare fine product in calligraphy.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

Just when Wang Shusheng was reading the words, the abbot came out. He said: "The monastery is a place for monks to practice, and foreign guests are not accepted. ”

Wang Shusheng said: "We are the Eighth Route Army, passing through here, disturbing the abbot's tranquility. ”

When the abbot heard this, a smile appeared on his face, he bowed and said: "I have heard the name of your army for a long time, like thunder, your army is patriotic in the war of resistance, and it is really a blessing to come to the temple." Please come in, please come in!"

After that, the abbot instructed the apprentices around him to make tea and cook.

After that, under the leadership of the abbot, Wang Shusheng began to tour the various parts of the temple.

They first looked at Tallinn, and the abbot said that it was the place where the famous Shaolin master passed away. Then, they came to the martial arts training hall, and there was a mural in the hall.

The monk in the martial arts training hall introduced: "This is the founder of Shaolin Temple, the ancestor of Bodhidharma, it is said that he can cross the river by stepping on a reed." The high level of light power is rarely matched in ancient and modern times. ”

Then, Wang Shusheng saw the pit on the floor tiles. The monk said that those pits were all sharpened by practicing martial arts for a long time in the past.

Hearing this, Wang Shusheng remembered something. He asked the abbot, "Do you know Xu Shiyou, which of the pits on the ground was left by him?"

When the abbot heard this, he laughed and said, "General Xu Shiyou knows Lao Gao, and Lao Gao once enlightened his martial arts! However, there is no pit left by him in this brick!"

Wang Shusheng asked curiously, how did Xu Shiyou's light skills come to be? The abbot explained a method.

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

It turned out that when the monks first became monks, everyone would receive a shovel and a small suckling pig. Every day, they would dig a little soil in the yard, and slowly it became a pit, and then they stepped into the pit and jumped up with the little suckling pig in their arms.

In this way, after years of digging pits, perennial jumping with suckling pigs. When the pit becomes deeper and the pig is bigger, the light skill of flying the eaves and walking the wall will naturally be practiced.

After Wang Shusheng heard this, he naturally said: "I see!"

At this time, Wang Shusheng suddenly saw a row of dilapidated houses, and he asked the abbot what was going on? The abbot said very sadly that in the past, during the Great War in the Central Plains, the bandits had committed crimes. The Japanese devils came and made it again.

Wang Shusheng hurriedly comforted: "Good is rewarded with good, evil is rewarded with evil, it's not that the time has not yet come." ”

While talking, the little monk came to invite Wang Shusheng and them to dinner. The rice is a bowl of ramen. Wang Shusheng knows that it is not easy for Shaolin Temple to cook such a meal, which also shows that the degree of respect for guests is very high.

At the end of the meal, the abbot asked Wang Shusheng a question. He said, "What does your party think about religion?"

Wang Shusheng replied: "Although our party does not believe in religion, it advocates that the people have the freedom to believe in religion. Our party respects people in Buddhist circles and the people's beliefs. ”

Wang Shusheng asked the abbot: Do you know Xu Shiyou? Abbot: The old man once enlightened his martial arts

When the abbot heard this, he nodded his head again and again.

After eating, Wang Shusheng left the Shaolin Temple. On this trip to Shaolin Temple, Wang Shusheng was originally out of curiosity about Xu Shiyou's kung fu and wanted to go to find out.

As a result, in the dialogue with the abbot, it became clear that they were eager to know what our party thought about religion. While visiting the temple, Wang Shusheng also did the work of the monks.

This also has some positive effects for uniting against Japan.

Xu Shiyou's kung fu is very good, from Shaolin Temple, which provided great help for his follow-up battles!
