1st Studio Aisslinger 2015
Following the success of the first HOBO hotel in Stockholm, aisslinger Architects was commissioned to design a second branch in Helsinki, establishing HOBO as a pioneer in the hospitality industry. The multifaceted and thoughtful design and community-based approach create an extraordinary experience for visitors and locals alike.

Color and contrast
In the overall hotel environment, Aisslinger has a clever combination of contrasting materials and intriguing tones. The large brick wall is not only used as a structural element, but also as a decorative wall. The use of large areas of stained mirrored glass also adds fun to the environment, creating a sense of depth and space.

The use of locally sourced terrazzo adds a touch of sophistication, while bespoke landscape furnishings and richly coloured fabrics visually accentuate the hotel's unique design narrative, showcasing the firm's perception of colour and spatial arrangement.

Community-based design approach
HOBO Helsinki is the second location of the innovative hotel brand, with more planned to open in the near future. Following the opening of HOBO's flagship store in Stockgol in 2017, also designed by aisslinger, HOBO Helsinki is committed to nurturing the local community through design-led decision-making and creating vibrant spaces where guests can connect, collaborate and interact with their surroundings. Social areas include co-working areas and meeting areas, a live music stage at the central bar, comfortable rooms and a unique culinary environment to provide guests with an unforgettable stay.

In line with HOBO's commitment to sustainability, HOBO Helsinki has implemented various sustainable planetary initiatives, such as cleaning on request, reducing food waste, offering vegetarian menus, partnering with local breweries and second-hand markets, and more. HOBO Helsinki has just opened, and Aisslinger has set a new benchmark for leisure and entertainment, combining creativity, community and sustainability.
