In 2014, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Tea Science conducted in-depth research in Mabian, and together with Mabian Agriculture and Rural Bureau and Yang Mingquan, we selected and bred this mutant variety, and carried out variety resistance identification, quality identification, DUS identification and variety regional testing.
Through the selection and trial of varieties, it was found that the biological traits of the variety were investigated and analyzed by biochemical components, and the seeds were introduced to Yibin Gaoxian, Guangyuan Wangcang and other areas for trial planting, and the regional test effect was obvious.
"After investigation, demonstration and repeated screening, it was confirmed that one of the strains had obvious characteristics of leaf color yellowing, and the processed green tea products had a rich aroma and fresh taste, which had development and promotion value, and the strain was named 'Yihuang No. 1' in 2021. According to reports, the variety of leaves horizontally, the shape of the leaves is narrow and oval, the leaves are 8.21 cm long, 2.80 cm wide, the leaf color is yellow, suitable for making roasted green tea, and the sensory quality color "three yellows" is prominent, that is, the dry tea is golden, the soup color is tender yellow, the bottom of the leaf is jade, the soup color is tender and bright, and the bottom of the leaf is bright and yellow.
