On the evening of May 2, the Hengshan Scenic Area Management Center issued a notice on this matter, saying that 6 tourists were injured in the rockfall incident, and one of them died due to his injuries.

According to the report, at about 14:40 on May 2, 2024, a rockfall occurred at the Hufeng Mouth in Hengshan Scenic Area, causing 6 tourists to be injured, of which 1 tourist died due to serious injuries and was unfortunately killed after rescue efforts failed, and the remaining 5 injured were not in danger of life and were being observed and treated in the hospital.
After the incident, Hunyuan County immediately activated the emergency plan, made every effort to treat the injured, evacuated the tourists at the scene, and no tourists were stranded at present. Geologists have also gone to the site to investigate and eliminate risks.
