Mountain and Sea Traveler is a 2D monster-style adventure puzzle game. Players take on the role of Nangumo, the last "Dream Countermaster", who will help trapped souls re-enter the cycle by exploring the remaining memories of others, traveling through time and reversing history.

The game uses pixels to express the style of ink painting, leading players to experience the scenery and characters in folk tales, such as Yellow Spring, Black and White Impermanence, Bull Head and Horse Face, Land Gong, etc.
Players take on the role of the protagonist Nangumo, a "dreamer" who can be traced back to the fragments of people's memories. He can change history by collecting "perceptions" to change the "hearts" of others and influence the behavior of people in the past. Every change to the past will have unexpected results for the new "present".
Commissioned by Black and White Impermanence, Nangumo travels to a small village to investigate the reason why souls cannot be reincarnated. The once prosperous village has become a barren land, and demons are rampant, leaving only a woman who is a withered tea house. Who is she waiting for? Where have all the people in the village gone? What happened seven years ago?
