On April 27, 2024, the 7th Annual Conference and Academic Forum of the Science Fiction Creation Research Base of the China Science Writers Association was held in Shougang Park, Beijing. The meeting was presided over by Wang Jinkang and Yao Lifen, deputy secretary-general of the science fiction base and associate researcher of the China Institute of Science Popularization. At the meeting, the science fiction base released the "Science Fiction Famous Classic Book Series", "Ancient Mountain Songyue: A New Dream of the Hometown of Chinese-style Science Fiction", "No Matter 37 Twenty-One - Jiang Bo Science Fiction Twenty-one Lectures", "Centennial Science Fiction Series", "Science Fiction China Series", "Fantasy Light Year: The 11th Beijing Science Fiction Creation and Creativity Competition "Light Year Award" Winning Collection", "Dimension" and other new books.
Dong Renwei, a popular science fiction activist and honorary chairman of the Sichuan Popular Science Writers Association, Jiang Bo, a science fiction writer, Gan Weikang, chairman of Hainan One Sky Vision Science Fiction Culture Media Co., Ltd., Shi Yi, vice president of Hainan One Sky Vision Science Fiction Culture Media Co., Ltd., a children's fiction writer Chaoxia, a science fiction writer Gu Shi, and Liu Yujie, a postdoctoral fellow jointly trained by China Science and Technology Press Co., Ltd. and Tsinghua University, conducted a dialogue on the theme of "Homeland Feelings in Science Fiction", which was hosted by science fiction writer Cheng Jingbo.
Li Lingji, President of Unisplendour Education Group and Deputy Director of the Science Fiction Base, Science Fiction Writer A Que, Science Fiction Writer Wu Chu, Science Fiction Writer Li Haichuan, and Zhao Wenjie, Head of the University Science Fiction Platform, conducted a dialogue on the theme of "Cultivation of Young Science Fiction Creative Talents".
At the meeting, Wang Weiying, executive deputy director and secretary general of the science fiction base, reported on the base's 2023 annual work summary and work deployment for the coming year. She comprehensively summarized the fruitful achievements of the science fiction base in 2023 from the aspects of science fiction book publishing, science fiction industry transformation, science fiction education and talent training, science fiction research and academic exchanges, and formulated the next step, saying that in 2024, the science fiction base will continue to make efforts in publishing, research, industrial innovation, talent reserve, communication and promotion.

Subsequently, the unveiling ceremony of the base writers' studio was held. Secretary Qiu Huadong and Dean Liu Cixin unveiled the plaques of Baoshu Studio and Xiao Xinghan Studio. So far, the science fiction base has set up studios for 16 writers.

In the academic exchange session, Li Xiaodong mentioned the new proposition of "how to integrate science fiction with the development of new productive forces", and Liu Bing, professor of the Department of History of Science at the School of Humanities and Humanities of Tsinghua University, shared his views on "the relationship between science fiction and popular science" and "the impact of popular imagination on society".
Qiu Huadong said in his speech that science fiction literature is an important way to think about the future, the development of Chinese science fiction relies on the development of cities and the progress of Chinese modernization, on this basis, generations of new science fiction writers are emerging, the development of Chinese science fiction literature is at the right time, and the Chinese Writers Association will continue to support science fiction literature and science fiction industry.
In his speech, Wang Ting affirmed a series of work done by the science fiction base, he mentioned that the country's emphasis on the science fiction industry has created a good environment for the development of the industry, and the China Science Writers Association will help the development of science fiction, hoping that the science fiction base can gather science fiction talent resources around the world, play a leading role, and inject new momentum into the promotion of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and high-quality development.
In his speech, Xu Shixin introduced the science fiction books recently published by China Science and Technology Press Co., Ltd., and said that the company will continue to work hard to promote the development of the publishing industry and the development of China's science fiction industry, and work with many parties to create a new era of Chinese science fiction.
In his speech, Liu Cixin said that the work of the science fiction base has made significant progress in many aspects, and in the future, it will strengthen talent training, expand the science fiction market, let more excellent science fiction works enter the public's field of vision, and stimulate the enthusiasm and attention of the whole society for science fiction culture.

The Science Fiction Creation Research Base of the China Science Writers Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Science Fiction Base") was established in December 2016 and is a second-level institution of the China Science Writers Association.
