According to Thai media news, on April 29, Mr. Vitaya, deputy director and acting director of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA) of Thailand, revealed that the fault repair between the Kelantan station and the Si Udom station of the yellow line is expected to be completed by the end of May, when the operation service will be fully resumed.

He said that at present, the operation of the Yellow Line from Lak Pao Station to Sam Rong Station is divided into three sections, and the occurrence of the above-mentioned faults has caused the trains to run only on one side for the time being, resulting in fewer trains and longer waiting times for passengers. As a result, the Bangkok Eastern Monorail (EBM) announced a reduction in fares as compensation. Despite this, the number of passengers on the Yellow Line has decreased by 20 per cent compared to normal, from more than 40,000 passengers per day to an average of about 30,000 passengers per day.

It is also understood that the accident on the MRT Yellow Line occurred on March 28, when a loud noise was heard, similar to the rail metal fragments falling from a high altitude and causing damage to at least 2 cars. Since 2024, there have been two accidents on the yellow line, which has also caused people to worry about potential safety hazards.
