The "May Day" holiday coincides with the peak tourism season, and it is expected that the public's willingness to travel will continue to increase during this year's "May Day" holiday due to the impact of the family travel boom and the "drainage" policy of the Ganzi Prefecture cultural and tourism department. Compared with last year's "May Day" holiday, it is expected that the traffic volume of expressways, the average daily cross-sectional flow of ordinary national and provincial trunk lines and road passenger traffic will increase slightly, and the passenger traffic of waterways and civil aviation will decline.
During the 5-day holiday, it is expected that the whole state will mainly travel by car, supplemented by tourist chartered cars, the traffic volume will increase significantly, and the traffic pressure on the roads around the major scenic spots will increase significantly.
According to the forecast of the State Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, it is expected that the state will welcome 1.2 million tourists during the May Day holiday in 2024, an increase of about 1.7% over 2023.
