Because his parents loved to collect antique calligraphy and paintings, Huang Junbi was exposed to calligraphy and painting since he was a child, and he became interested in painting. In the course of his studies as a teenager, Huang Junbi's interest in painting continued unabated, and he even painted when he had free time, not missing any opportunity. Later, Huang Junbi was admitted to Guangdong Public School, met his mentor Li Yaoping, and started the study of Chinese painting.

The more he learned about Chinese painting, the more obsessed Huang Junbi became. He admired the famous paintings of the ancients very much, and vowed to copy all the ancient paintings he could see, borrow, and buy. This period of frenzied copying of ancient paintings lasted for ten years, and he copied more than 300 ancient paintings. For the paintings he loves, Huang Junbi will copy them many times until he grasps the essence of the paintings.

After completing his studies, Huang Junbi devoted himself to education and inherited the art of Chinese painting. Huang Junbi has successively taught at Guangzhou Peizheng Middle School, Guangzhou Municipal Art School, Guangdong Provincial Women's Normal School, Jiangcun Normal School, National Central University Art Department, National Art College, and Taiwan Normal University (the predecessor of Taiwan Normal University). After his retirement, he also taught at his residences in Taipei and Hong Kong, where he continued his life.

In addition to devoting his life to painting, Huang Junbi is also engaged in cultural diplomacy, and is committed to spreading the art of Chinese painting overseas, so that the world can see and understand Chinese painting. Huang Junbi has visited dozens of countries and regions throughout his life, held art exhibitions and lectured, and set off rounds of "Chinese painting fever" everywhere he went.

When Huang Junbi lectures, he always paints on the spot, teaches and demonstrates, so that overseas people who are accustomed to seeing Western painting can appreciate the style of Chinese painting, and plays a very good role in the promotion of Chinese painting art. His paintings have not only been collected by art galleries and art galleries in many countries, but also given to dignitaries and heads of state of many countries as precious diplomatic gifts.

At the age of 93, Huang Junbi painted a "Picture of Returning with a Full Load", which was the last work of his life. The inscription says: Returning with a full load, if life is dustless, there is always a reason for clutch pessimism. After a year of illness, he has been rehabilitated, and the pen and ink dance have been renewed.
