Turn "beautiful scenery" into "money scene"
The village of Yuping is hidden deep in the mountains. This small village located in the Namhe River basin, a tributary of the middle stream of the Han River, although the scenery is beautiful, but the villagers once lived in poverty due to inconvenient transportation and closed environment.
Liu Yiyong is 62 years old this year, and when he was not yet retired, he actively obeyed the decision of the party committee of the county public security bureau and stationed himself in the village to serve as the first secretary and team leader of Yuping Village, Zhaowan Township. In July 2022, when it was learned that Liu Yiyong was about to leave Yuping Village after retirement, more than 40 villagers spontaneously signed a joint name to "detain" him and continue to serve as the head of Yuping Village.
"Since the villagers trust me so much, I can only better unite them, lead everyone, and do a good job. Liu Yiyong did not make bold statements, he said, if you want to do it, you will be willing to do it actively, so that everyone will have more sense of gain and happiness.
"It is difficult for people in the mountains to grow agricultural products, and it is even more difficult to exchange agricultural products for money. Liu Yiyong, who was born in Yuping Village, knows that life is not easy for villagers in mountainous areas.
He led the members of the task force and the cadres of the two committees of the village branch to start with the improvement of the environment. Through the efforts of many parties, we have done everything possible to strive for more than 2.1 million yuan in funds, built 5 miles of Dachizi Tourist Highway, built a new Yuping Minmu Theme Park, Lianghekou Ecological Parking Lot, Horse Farm Ecological Parking Lot, Sugu Riverside Wharf, etc., installed street lamps for the residents of the whole village, renovated 70 toilets, built two new public toilets, and applied for the opening of the county seat directly to Yuping Village Bus and express delivery.
In October 2022, the Sugu Bridge of S467 Provincial Highway was completed and opened to traffic, opening up the circulation "artery" from Zhaowan Township to the county, shortening the time to enter the county from more than 2 hours to more than 1 hour......
With the environment beautiful and the infrastructure improved, Liu Yiyong took "tourism +" as the guide, expanded the ecological space, made the advantages of the landscape sufficient, and led the villagers to embark on a road of eco-tourism development, so that good scenery became "good money".
Yuping Village is a delicious town, smoked bacon, Fu sauce beans, bud grain syrup buns, Zhaowan tofu, wild money fish and other special ingredients, after traditional hand-made, with wood stove fire, people never get tired of eating.
"In order to transform ecological advantages into economic advantages and meet the desire of tourists to eat, live and play, our team focuses on the development of farmhouses, and encourages farmers to open farmhouses and homestays by doing door-to-door work. Liu Yiyong said.

In February 2022, villager Fang Guanglian renovated her house and built a farmhouse of "two sips of two sips at the mouth of the two rivers".
"The village has built roads and bridges, making it more convenient for tourists to travel. Sometimes it can accommodate four or five tables of visitors a day. Tourists come to Yuping to eat authentic farm food, all the raw materials come from our local area, such as home-fed chickens, clear water money fish caught in the river, self-ground clear water tofu, fresh bamboo shoots picked on the mountain, tender toon picked from the tree, etc. Fang Guanglian said happily.
Today's Yuping Village, on weekends and holidays, there is an endless stream of people who come to camp, fish, and play. Especially during the long holiday and summer vacation, the tourists are even fuller. At present, 23 farmhouses have been developed in the small Yuping Village.
"A pot can top a slope for you to grow grain, and a bed is better than ten acres of grain for you. Liu Yiyong often talks about these ideas and infiltrates the hearts of villagers. After a long time, the villagers who tasted the sweetness rushed to set up farmhouses and homestays.
"This year, we plan to upgrade the original 23 farmhouses and develop another 10 to meet the needs of tourists. Now the village has also set up a catering association to unify the price of dishes and prevent stealing customers and malicious competition, such as 138 yuan a pot of local chicken and 15 yuan a ......plate of green vegetables," Liu Yiyong said.
In order to facilitate management, the team also produces and installs uniform signage and guidance signs for the village farmhouses free of charge, and conducts regular training for farmhouse workers.
"I currently raise 43 cattle, 15 of which are slaughtered annually, and my income is more than 130,000 yuan. The farm has absorbed 7 families who have been lifted out of poverty to help here. Now that the tourism industry in our village has developed, many tourists from other places come here to buy beef, and this year I plan to expand the scale and strive to raise 80 heads. Li Qizhao, deputy director of the Yuping Village Committee, said.
"In the past, it was inconvenient for me to raise pigs and chickens to sell, and I was also lowered by traders and slaughtered scales. Now these are not worried, and the e-commerce and farmhouses in the village are all packaged. This is all thanks to Secretary Liu's ideas, ideas, and directions.
