At about 10 o'clock in the morning of May 1, fisherman Qu Liangfeng drove the fishing boat back to Nanjiang Wharf, and the last boat brought back more than 50 catties of crabs, gobies and other seafood. The fishing moratorium began at 12 noon. On the wharf, fishermen are busy packing up their nets and moving their tools back to shore, all the fishing boats have been moored and docked, and the fishermen will have a four-month holiday.

Half a month in advance, the net was collected   and the last boat got back more than 50 catties

Qu Liangfeng, a 46-year-old fisherman, has been going to sea with his parents since he was 17 years old. In this sea, he changed five fishing boats one after another. The fishing boat that went to sea was a new fishing boat that was bought just last year.

Quliangfeng's fishing boats are mainly "jar nets", operating in offshore waters. The "jar net" needs to lay pillars and ropes in advance in the sea, and every year when the sea is opened, they place a huge "net bag" in the sea. This large net pocket will rotate with the change of the tide, and the fish will be trapped when pushed into the net by the tide.

The "jar net" is also called the fixed net, which only needs to be put into the sea once a year, and the rest of the time can be harvested every day. Similarly, they are at their busiest when the fishing moratorium approaches.

Qu Liangfeng said that since half a month ago, they have started to collect nets one after another, and it takes about 20 minutes on average to collect one. By the end of the day, it was almost over. However, they would put the rope in the sea, and now that there is no float, the returning trawler will stray in and cause damage. Therefore, he had already gone to sea at about 1 a.m., but he did not return until after 9 a.m., when he saw that all the trawlers at sea had returned.

"There are not many seafood landed today, about 50 catties," Qu Liangfeng said, and he doesn't plan to sell the last seafood. Pack up and go home, and give a little food to relatives and friends.

The reporter saw on the Nanjiang wharf that the wharf was already full of fishing boats, and the fishermen were busy unloading supplies from the boats. At sea, there are already law enforcement officers patrolling to ensure that all fishing vessels return to the dock.

The fishing season ended   successfully and one season can earn more than 100,000 yuan

Qu Liangfeng said that this year is generally a bumper harvest season. The effect of the moratorium on the recovery of marine life is still obvious. Judging from the amount of fish caught from Nanjiang Wharf, it is basically the same as in previous years.

"We don't have to worry about selling seafood at Nanjiang Wharf," Qu Liangfeng said, adding that because it's so close to the city, people come to buy it whenever fishing boats dock. Their offshore jar nets generally dock at six or seven o'clock in the morning, and trawlers a little farther away usually dock at two or three o'clock in the afternoon. For many Qingdao people, the seafood they catch from these jar nets is also called "small boat seafood".

Qu Liangfeng explained. Because of the close distance to the sea, their fishing boats are generally smaller. Moreover, they go fishing almost every day, almost from the sea directly to the dock. Because of the freshness, the seafood on the pier is even a little more expensive than in the market.

Taking mackerel as an example, this year, the mackerel caught by big boats came back as a stream, and the wholesale price even reached about 25 yuan. But at Nanjiang Wharf, the freshly caught mackerel they caught was sold for 40 yuan a catty at the cheapest price and 50 yuan a catty at the highest. All kinds of other small seafood, as long as they dock, will be sold out in the morning.

"It's definitely no problem to earn 180,000 yuan," Qu Liangfeng said, saying that going to sea is hard work, they all go to sea at two or three o'clock in the morning, and they usually have to work in the sea for five or six hours before returning. When you go to sea, you need a minimum of two people. It's fine if the wind and waves are a little smaller, but when the wind and waves are strong, you can't stand steadily.

Moreover, the cost of raising a boat is too high now. For example, simply hiring a labor will cost more than 10,000 yuan a month. "Even if you don't go to sea for a month, you have to pay this money to others," Qu Liangfeng said, and it is not easy for others to go to sea. In addition, it is more difficult to find the people in the sea now, although they earn more, and many people can't bear this hardship.

The fishing moratorium has been suspended for four months, and half of them have been repaired  to repair nets and boats

When the boats returned to the dock, the fishermen were not idle. The reporter saw that the wharf was full of fishing nets pulled back from the sea, and many fishermen were busy repairing them.

Qu Liangfeng said that each of these jars has dozens of nets, and they need to dry them in the open space, and then repair and store the damaged areas. After the official moratorium, fishermen will usher in a rare 4-month holiday, which is also a rare time to relax.

"Actually, I can't be idle, I have to repair and repair the boat," Qu Liangfeng said, and they will pull the fishing boats to the shore in batches to dry, and finally find professional workers to repair them, which will take about a month to be busy. Half a month before the opening of the sea, they had to prepare in advance.

Not only that, but many fishermen also work short-term jobs during the fishing moratorium. "There are people who go to construction sites and factories," Qu Liangfeng said, who has been closed for nearly four months, has no income at all, and will be anxious. They usually go to the factory for a short period of time or two to earn a few thousand yuan to subsidize it.

If you want to eat seafood, you don't have to worry The   market is well supplied

The reporter saw on the Nanjiang Wharf that many citizens still rushed to "grab fresh" on the last day. Compared to the previous days, the prices of various types of seafood have also decreased slightly.

The sea has been officially closed since May 1, and for many citizens who like to eat seafood, it may be very anxious. However, a lot of seafood is now frozen. Citizens like to eat mackerel, saury, etc., and in the last ten days or so, you can eat very fresh fish.

At the same time, all kinds of farmed shellfish began to be brought ashore one after another. Clam farmers in Hongdao and Jimo began to increase their fishing efforts, and at the same time, clams in the waters of T-shaped Bay and Jiaozhou Bay also began to enter the harvest season one after another. Not only that, the shrimp and bamboo shrimp farmed in Qingdao have also begun to be marketed in large quantities, enriching the seafood market during the fishing moratorium.
