How much rain fell in April in the south
Guangdong and Jiangxi both ushered in the rainiest April since meteorological records began this year, and Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Chongqing, and Sichuan ranked second in history in terms of rainfall.
Record-breaking rainfall: A large number of stations in Jiangnan, South China and the eastern part of Southwest China broke the record of the same period in April, of which 41 districts and counties in Guangdong broke the April extreme, of which the cumulative rainfall in Longmen in Guangdong was as high as 1292.4 mm, and the cumulative rainfall in Fogang was 1152.4 mm, both of which were 3-4 times more than the same period, and the cumulative rainfall in Guangzhou was 534.1 mm, nearly 2 times more than the same period (193.8 mm).
In particular, the rainfall in April at 16 stations, including Longmen (1292.4 mm), Fogang (1152.4 mm), Xinfeng (982.8 mm), Shaoguan (962.1 mm), Heyuan (900.2 mm) and Yangshan (899.9 mm), even exceeded the total rainfall in the three months from April to June.
With the arrival of the May Day holiday, the rain in South China has finally ushered in a weakening contraction. It is expected that tomorrow, with the northward lifting of the subtropical high, the precipitation in southern China will also weaken significantly, but there will still be moderate to heavy rain and localized heavy rain along the coast of central and western Guangdong and central and northern Hainan.
It should be noted that on May 3 and 6, there will be another widespread precipitation process in the central and eastern regions. It is expected that there will be heavy to heavy rain in the eastern part of southwest China, Jianghuai, eastern Huanghuai, Jiangnan, and southern China, and local heavy rainfall in southern Jiangnan and southern China, with hail in the above-mentioned localities, with a cumulative rainfall of 40-80 mm, 100-200 mm in some areas, and more than 250 mm locally.
This round of precipitation in the second half of the holiday will also affect the north, and it is expected that the precipitation will spread to North China on the 4th, and the central and southern parts of the Northeast will also join the precipitation ranks on the 5th-6th.
Overall, in the first half of the May Day holiday, except for some areas in South China and Hunan, there is still heavy rainfall and strong convective weather, and the weather in most parts of the country is good;

2. Actively help yourself
◆ If people in the upstream area find signs of flash floods and debris flows, they should try to immediately notify the downstream villages, schools, factories and mines that may be affected by the debris flows, so that they can take shelter in time.
