After the Netflix version of "The Three-Body Problem" was broadcast, it once occupied the first place in the number of English series on Netflix for three consecutive weeks, and now the top spot has finally changed hands.
"Baby Reindeer" became the most-watched English-language series on Netflix April 15-21, while "Three-Body Problem" slipped to third place.
However, "Three-Body Problem" can still be played, and it has been ranked in the TOP 10 for 5 consecutive weeks since it was broadcast, and it is foreseeable that this American drama adapted from Liu Cixin's sci-fi masterpiece will stay on this list for a long time.
"Reindeer Baby" was launched on April 11 and currently has a Douban rating of 8.6, the drama is written, produced and starred by Richard Gard, and tells the story of his own experience with a female stalker.
Before being adapted by Netflix, Richard Gard also toured Reindeer Baby as a one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London's West End.
The show was filmed in Wormit, near Fife, Scotland, just 50 miles from Richard Gard's home.
The story is based on a riveting true event that follows the twisted relationship between struggling comedian Donnie Dunn (Richard Gard) and a female stalker, and how that relationship affects him and ultimately forces him to face a deep dark wound.
"Reindeer Baby" is classified as a black comedy, and it does have a comedic side, but for the male protagonist, it is the darkness and endless self-blame that cannot be escaped.
