With such a strong anti-corruption effort, why is it still "unfinished"?

author:Chen Chuer

In recent years, the mainland government has continued to exert efforts on the issue of anti-corruption, and a series of anti-corruption policies and laws and regulations have been promulgated one after another, with fruitful results, demonstrating the determination of the party and the government to resolutely punish corruption. Why, however, is it that against the backdrop of such a vigorous anti-corruption campaign, there are still phenomena of corruption that have persisted despite repeated prohibitions and even multiplied and spread? This is indeed a question worthy of deep thought.

With such a strong anti-corruption effort, why is it still "unfinished"?

1. We must realize that the fight against corruption is a complex, long-term, and arduous struggle.

Although the mainland government attaches great importance to anti-corruption work, corrupt elements often have a strong ability to conceal themselves in the vast bureaucratic system. They use the power in their hands, exploit the loopholes of the law, and cloak themselves in the cloak of legality to package corrupt acts that are difficult to detect. This requires us not only to intensify our efforts in the anti-corruption work, but also to enhance our wisdom. It is necessary to use modern scientific and technological means to strengthen the monitoring and analysis of corrupt behaviors and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of anti-corruption work.

2. Part of the reason is due to the entanglement of the chain of interests.

In a corruption case, multiple departments, multiple links, and even multiple levels are often involved. The fall of a corrupt element is likely to lead to the exposure of a group of relevant personnel. Under such circumstances, the anti-corruption struggle is apt to fall into the predicament of "not being able to grasp it completely." To solve this difficult problem, it is necessary to resolutely break the chain of interests, cut off the network of protection for corrupt elements, and put an end to the breeding of corrupt phenomena once and for all. This requires us to deepen structural reform, optimize the operation of power, strengthen the restraint and supervision of power, and ensure that power operates under the sun.

With such a strong anti-corruption effort, why is it still "unfinished"?

3. The quality of the social atmosphere also has an important impact on the anti-corruption work.

In some regions and industries, unhealthy practices are prevalent and unspoken rules are rampant, leading some people to join the ranks of corruption in order to cater to this trend. To eliminate this phenomenon, it is necessary for us to strengthen the building of a clean and honest party style, vigorously carry forward the core socialist values, and create a clean and upright social atmosphere. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the education and training of party members and cadres, enhance their ideological consciousness and moral level, and enable them to consciously resist the temptation of corruption.

4. The imperfection of the legal system is also a major obstacle in the fight against corruption.

Although the mainland has established a relatively complete legal system, there are still a certain degree of loopholes in actual implementation. It is precisely these loopholes that some corrupt elements exploit to evade legal sanctions. Therefore, we need to continuously improve anti-corruption laws and regulations, increase the punishment of corrupt acts, and make the law a powerful weapon in anti-corruption work.

With such a strong anti-corruption effort, why is it still "unfinished"?

In short, the fight against corruption is a systematic and comprehensive work, which requires in-depth analysis and research at multiple levels. In this struggle, we must unswervingly intensify the fight against corruption, deepen structural reform, promote positive energy, improve laws and regulations, and build systems and mechanisms that dare not be corrupt, cannot be corrupted, and do not want to be corrupt. At the same time, we must build confidence that the fight against corruption will be victorious. Only in this way can we gradually realize social fairness and justice and create a clean and upright living environment for the masses of the people.

In this process, everyone is an important force in the fight against corruption. We must constantly improve our moral cultivation, strictly abide by party discipline and state law, and resist corruption. Only when everyone shoulders their own responsibilities and participates in the anti-corruption struggle can we gather a strong joint force against corruption and jointly write a new chapter in the anti-corruption struggle.

Let us work together to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and make unremitting efforts!
