On the "lotus leaves", the green plants sway with the wind, the sunshine, wind and rain pass through the gap, and the Jinjiang River under the "dialogue" bridge forms a poetic picture of water rhyme...... On April 30, the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge, located in the core area of the financial and business district of Jiaozi Park, was officially opened.
It is reported that the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge connects the east and west districts of Jiaozi Park and the Jinjiang Greenway, and is an important pedestrian passage across the southern extension of Hongxing Road and the Jinjiang River. The total length of the whole bridge is 496.16 meters, the widest part of the main bridge is 83.5 meters, the steel structure is over 8,000 tons, and the projection area of the bridge deck is over 10,000 square meters.

Step by step, the lotus floats on the surface
Looking down from the air, the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge looks like a piece of "lotus leaves" blooming on the Jinjiang River, forming an artificial picture full of artistic conception.
As a green and vibrant urban public space, the design of the Jiaozi pedestrian bridge is inspired by lotus pond lotus leaves, in terms of structure, the bridge pier imitates the stem shape of a single lotus leaf, and nine spaces of 300 square meters to 1600 square meters form the bridge deck, which resembles nine "lotus leaves" floating on the water.
In order to avoid using a simple concrete slab to cross the Jin River, the design team has developed more than a dozen proposals. In the end, I chose to draw inspiration from the 'lotus leaf'. The relevant person in charge of China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., who participated in the design of the Jiaozi pedestrian bridge, said.
"This is a one-of-a-kind pedestrian bridge. It is a bridge and a park, and it is both a bridge and a three-dimensional park located on the surface of the Geumgang River. The person in charge said that the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge is a "floating park", and the bridge deck is a piece of "lotus leaves", and sunlight, sight, wind and rain can pass through the gap between the "lotus leaves". If sunlight passes through the structural gaps between the "lotus leaves" and casts changing light and shadow on the water, it will present a dreamlike effect.
The beautiful scenery is like poetry, and the lotus is born step by step. The "lotus leaves" not only give the bridge a very high "appearance", but also create a flexible and diverse vitality space. According to the design, the bridge contains 9 spaces, including the Fantasy Water Show, Jiaozi Qing Bar, Jiaozi Book Bar, Jiaozi Theater, Jiaozi Square, Water Curtain Show Field, Huanwu Lawn, Rainbow Lawn, and Sky Stand, which will provide citizens with 9 different recreational experiences.
It is worth mentioning that the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge also deliberately created a "rainbow scene". In the rainbow lawn area of the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge, by laying out 17μm, 30m long and 7m high water mist in the railing area, at that time, in suitable weather, the public can see the rainbow at the two viewing points above and below the bridge.
Race against time to build
The steel structure of the whole bridge is over 8,000 tons
According to reports, the construction of the Jiaozi pedestrian bridge project will begin in November 2022, and in April 2023, the Chengdu Jiaozi pedestrian bridge will complete all underwater construction tasks, enter the steel structure construction stage of the main bridge in May of the same year, and complete the closure of the steel box girder in June.
Among them, in the steel structure construction stage, due to the large amount of work, short dry period, complex geological structure, and large safety risks, the construction team must complete the construction of the underwater structure of the bridge before the flood season, and remove the earth-rock cofferdam in the river to ensure the smooth progress of the water construction.
"The steel structure of the whole bridge is over 8,000 tons, and the projection area of the bridge deck is more than 10,000 square meters. The project leader of China Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. said that the project team carefully planned and implemented the project, gave full play to its rich construction experience in the field of steel structure bridges, and successfully applied large-scale component loading and unloading and turning, limited space partition construction control, steel trestle and steel platform support and other technologies, which perfectly solved the problems of bridge water operation, component transportation and positioning, installation and welding partition, and completed the assembly task of 186 main bridge steel box girder "lotus leaf" components after 52 days.

The Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge is another exquisite and practical multi-functional bridge in the Jiaozi Park Financial and Business District, which can effectively improve the quality of public space and public travel, promote the interconnection of business and popularity on both sides of the Jinjiang River in the Jiaozi Park Financial and Business District, and become an indispensable part of the display of regional charm. At the same time, as a landmark municipal project, it is also an important green axis continuation of the financial and business district of Jiaozi Park, which will mirror each other with the east and west districts of Jiaozi Park and the Jinjiang Greenway, allowing visitors and surrounding residents to walk in "nature" and enjoy the slow urban life of "international style, Chinese charm and Chengdu flavor".
With the official opening of the Jiaozi Pedestrian Bridge, it also echoes with the Jinshang Bridge and the Jinyan Bridge, realizing the "three bridges and connecting the scenery", further highlighting the waterfront landscape effect in the financial and business district of Jiaozi Park.

"The connection of the three bridges provides citizens on both sides of the strait with a more convenient and high-quality travel experience, a more comfortable and safe leisure space, and also promotes the functional coordination and industrial linkage of Hedong and Hexi, and expands the space for industrial development. The relevant person in charge of the Chengdu Jiaozi Park Financial Business District Development Service Bureau said that this is also of great significance to further build a green, low-carbon and high-quality spatial pattern of Jiaozi Park Financial Business District and promote the adjustment of the four major structures.
