Recently, Kunming Xishan District Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. released the proposed bidding plan for the design, procurement and construction (EPC) general contracting of the Longmen Cableway Upgrading and Reconstruction Project in Xishan Scenic Area.
It is planned to invest about 129 million yuan to upgrade and transform the Longmen Cableway in Xishan Scenic Area. The tender announcement is expected to be issued in May 2024.

Project Overview
The construction site of the cableway upgrading and reconstruction project is located in the Xishan Scenic Area, and the construction content includes the renewal and replacement of the equipment of the cableway, the supporting facilities and service supporting rooms of the upper and lower stations, etc., and the horizontal distance between the upper and lower stations of the cableway is about 1050 meters, and the line height difference is about 128 meters, Taihua Station covers an area of 3397.52 square meters, and Longmen Station covers an area of 1748.00 square meters. After the renovation of Taihua Station, the total construction area (including the consolidated logistics room) is: 4022.63 square meters. The total construction area of Longmen Station after renovation is: 946.32 square meters.
Project (Bid) information
(1) Design content: complete all the design work included in the Longmen Cableway Upgrading and Reconstruction Project in Xishan Scenic Area, including but not limited to preliminary design and construction drawing design, organize expert demonstration and pass expert review, cooperate with the construction drawing review company, cooperate with the tenderer to apply for approval and construction, expert consultation, data collection and other related work, and undertake follow-up services such as design tracking services and design defect responsibility in the construction process. The specific work is subject to the actual entrustment notice of the tenderer.
(2) Construction content: complete all the construction work included in the Longmen Cableway Upgrading and Renovation Project in Xishan Scenic Area, complete all the construction content of the project according to the approved construction drawings, as well as the procurement, installation, commissioning and acceptance of the materials and equipment required for the project, complete the preparation of the completion drawings, and report the construction process cost control unit for review, and assist the tenderer to handle the relevant administrative examination and approval services and defect repair and warranty work during the project warranty period, which shall be subject to the actual entrustment of the tenderer.
In February this year, the leaders of Xishan District said at the third meeting of the 17th People's Congress of the district that this year will upgrade the Longmen Cableway and other supporting facilities in the Xishan Scenic Area to ensure that the number of tourists exceeds 5.4 million person-times, and accelerate the creation of 5A-level scenic spots;
Kunming West Mountain is located on the west bank of Dianchi Lake, also known as Biji Mountain, the Yuan Dynasty was the first of the "Eight Views of Southern Yunnan". The Ming Dynasty was the crown of the "Four Famous Mountains of Yunnan". In the "Six Views of Dianyang", it is known as "the autumn color of the blue chicken"; in the "Eight Views of Kunming" in the Qing Dynasty, the "Night Moon of Dianchi Lake" is the night moon of the West Mountain of Dianchi Lake; and in contemporary times, it is the "Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Longmen Feizhi" of the "Sixteen Views of Kunming".
Overlooking the peaks of the West Mountain, it is not only like a huge sleeping Buddha, but also like a sleeping beauty. Therefore, the West Mountain is called "Reclining Buddha Mountain", also known as "Sleeping Beauty Mountain".
Longmen Scenic Area is the collective name of the ancient buildings of Sanqing Pavilion and Longmen Grottoes, and is the core scenic spot of Kunming Xishan Scenic Area.
Sanqing Pavilion is built on the cliff between Luohan Mountain and Hangbang Mountain, and is more than 300 meters above the water surface of Dianchi Lake. The nine-storey and eleven pavilion buildings of Sanqing Pavilion are scattered in height and are composed of Lingguan Palace, Sanqing Palace, Jade Emperor Pavilion, Lingxiao Pavilion and other scenic spots.
Longmen Grottoes, located in the south of Sanqing Pavilion, including the north by the Sanqing Pavilion "there is a cave" stone cave door, south to the end of the whole grotto stone road project on the wall of a thousand thousand thousand points, by the sea place, Ciyun Cave, Yunhua Cave, Datian Pavilion and other scenic spots. On the whole Longmen stone carving, stone room and cliff wall, the literati of the past dynasties left a lot of inscriptions, which are calligraphy and cliff stone carving art treasures. In March 1983, the Longmen Grottoes were listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in Yunnan Province.
"Longmen Scenic View" is characterized by "strange, unique, dangerous and secluded", and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.
After the upgrading and transformation of the Longmen Cableway in Xishan Scenic Area, not only the safety and comfort will be greatly improved, but also the reception and service level of the scenic spot can also be improved, and the scenic spot will be upgraded.
