The Meilong high-speed railway can reach Guangzhou and Shenzhen within 1.5 hours after the completion of track laying
At 2 a.m. on April 29, the Meilong high-speed rail project ushered in new progress. With the last set of 500-meter-long steel rails steadily falling at the track-laying construction site in Longchuan County, Heyuan City, the track-laying of the high-speed railway from Meizhou to Longchuan of the Meilong high-speed railway has been completed, marking the construction sprint stage before the opening of the whole line.
With a total length of about 93.9 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the Meilong high-speed railway line is a double-track high-speed railway. After completion, the time for Meizhou to reach Guangzhou and Shenzhen will be shortened to 1.5 hours, which will accelerate the interconnection between Meizhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
