On April 29, the award ceremony of the first natural resources cultural and creative competition sponsored by the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Ocean Development Foundation and the creative communication and sharing meeting of telling the story of natural resources were held in Beijing.
On April 23, 2023, the first Natural Resources Cultural and Creative Competition was launched, collecting works from the society around the theme of "Beautiful Nature and Good Life in the New Era", and a total of 3,848 entries were received until the registration deadline, and 205 units in the natural resources system, 313 domestic and foreign universities, 104 social organizations, units and individuals actively submitted. The works of the competition have a clear theme, rich content, high overall quality, and high artistic appeal, creativity and communication. The competition consists of three competition units: graphic, visual and physical, and a total of 88 gold, silver and bronze awards (including 15 gold awards, 29 silver awards, and 44 bronze awards), 174 outstanding works and 20 excellent organization awards were selected through preliminary evaluation, final evaluation and publicity. At the event, trophies and certificates were awarded to 35 award-winning representatives from all over the country. The delegates said that participating in the Natural Resources Cultural and Creative Competition is not only a high-level platform to show their own capabilities, but also firmly establishes the concept of ecological civilization that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and hopes to help enhance the public's ideological consciousness and action consciousness of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature" through their own works, and strive to be an active disseminator and faithful practitioner of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought.
Zhang Yajun, chairman of the jury of the competition and deputy director of the Geological Museum of China, said that the award-winning works have three outstanding characteristics: First, they are closely related to the theme. The works dig deep into the natural and cultural heritage, display natural elements such as mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasses, sand and seas, and enhance the awareness of the whole society on natural resources. The works range from geology and minerals, land space, cultivated land protection, marine surveying and mapping, forestry and grassland wetlands, to ecological diversity protection, environmental protection and low-carbon, etc., and publicize natural resources and related work through different forms. Many of the works have novel ideas and unique designs, and the shape, color, animation and other elements are comfortable, beautiful and coordinated, with strong artistic appeal and touch, reflecting the concept of "new era, beautiful nature, good life".
Pan Xinchun, vice chairman and secretary general of the China Ocean Development Foundation, said in his speech that the holding of the natural resources cultural and creative competition is of great significance to actively publicize and popularize the knowledge of natural resources, improve the awareness of natural resources of the whole people, and promote the formation of a good social atmosphere of care, protection, conservation and rational use of natural resources. Promoting cultural prosperity, building a cultural power, and building the modern civilization of the Chinese nation are our new cultural missions in the new era. Focusing on promoting the development of natural resources and culture in the new era, three suggestions are put forward: first, to promote the rapid development of the mainland's natural resources and culture based on Xi Jinping's cultural thought; second, to promote the continuous prosperity of the mainland's natural resources and culture by praising the people's innovation and creativity; and third, to focus on inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional culture, so that the mainland's history and culture will be rejuvenated.
Guests from Tsinghua University, Beijing Forestry University, China.com, Qingdao Institute of Surveying and Mapping, Shenzhen National Treasure Mint Co., Ltd. and other units were invited to give keynote speeches from the perspective of ecological civilization construction and natural resource culture communication. The guests said that in the new era and new journey, how to inherit and promote the culture of natural resources, use creative communication to tell the story of natural resources, and present the beauty of nature, culture and times in the new era is a topic of common concern. Natural resources culture is rich in content and profound accumulation, and it is necessary to further excavate the content, innovate forms, and broaden channels, promote the international dissemination of natural resources culture, enhance the influence of natural resources culture, and empower nature and culture to provide a strong ideological guarantee and strong spiritual strength for the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
The Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Natural Resources attaches great importance to the construction of natural resources culture. In February this year, the party group of the ministry issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Propaganda, Ideological and Cultural Work of Natural Resources", proposing to strengthen the cultural foundation of natural resources, enhance the influence of natural resources culture, and support the creation of literary and artistic works and cultural products around the theme of ecological civilization and the development of natural resources. In the next step, the organizing committee will launch the second natural resources cultural and creative competition in due course, guide the public to establish the concept of ecological civilization, and strive to be a good disseminator of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, a recorder of the development of natural resources, an advocate of natural resources spiritual culture, and a builder of a beautiful China.
