In the case of AMD's continuous offensive, NVIDIA's existing low-end models (focusing on the RTX 4060 series) are at an absolute disadvantage in terms of cost performance, and they are completely crushed by AMD, basically unable to parry, and the situation is very passive.

Of course, everyone is most interested in the news of the GeForce RTX 4060, hoping that Lao Huang can upgrade the GPU and increase its performance by at least half a gear while the price remains the same.
In this regard, the editor would like to explain two points:
1. What I want to share below is not the news of GeForce RTX 4060, but the news of GeForce RTX 4070, there is no news of the new version of the RTX 4060 series in the market, and you still need to be patient.
Second, the news that the editor wants to share about the new version of GeForce RTX 4070 is not gossip and rumors, and there are already GPU-Z pictures exposed, which are basically real hammers and highly credible.
Specifically, the original GeForce RTX 4070 was powered by the AD104 GPU (see image above), however, the GeForce RTX 4070 with a higher-performance AD103 GPU has been spotted in exposure, as shown in the image below.
The AD103 GPU was previously used in GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, GeForce RTX 4080 (discontinued), and GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. That said, Lao Huang has now upgraded the GeForce RTX 4070 with a GPU, which is really good news.
However, you can't be happy too early, friends who are familiar with Lao Huang's "knife method" know that under the same price, replace and upgrade the GPU of GeForce RTX 4070, and improve its performance to the same as GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and other models, this kind of thing is basically impossible to happen, don't think about it, Lao Huang must have some "routine" to do this.
So, what exactly is a "routine"? You can simply understand it like this: this AD103 GPU is not the other AD103 GPU, and the AD103 GPU applied to the new GeForce RTX 4070 is equivalent to the defective product of the original AD103 GPU, which is downgraded and shielded.
In popular parlance in the digital world, the original AD103 GPU is equivalent to the "full blood version", and the AD103 GPU applied to the new GeForce RTX 4070 is equivalent to the "residual blood version". Therefore, the performance of the new GeForce RTX 4070 will certainly not be comparable to that of models such as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER with the "full-blooded" AD103 GPU.
Although the names are both "AD103" series GPUs, it is expected that the old and new versions will be very different in terms of details, such as the number of CUDA cores, the number of multi-unit stream processors, etc., which will shrink significantly.
As for how much the remnant version of the AD103 GPU will shrink and what is the performance? It is rumored that the approximate specifications of the remnant version of the AD103 GPU will shrink to a level similar to that of the original AD104 GPU, such as the number of CUDA cores is still 5888, the multi-unit stream processor is still 46, and so on.
To sum up, as far as is known, the performance of the new GeForce RTX 4070 with AD103 GPU should not be expected to be great.
However, the final actual situation will have to wait for the exact parameters and evaluation of the new GeForce RTX 4070 to come out.
