Many people may not know that meat floss actually originated in Fuzhou. It was Lin Zhenguang (alias "Lin Dingding") who invented the meat floss on the street of Minhou.

During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Lin Dingding served as a cook in Liu Buxi's family in Fujian Salt Transport. Once, he accidentally cooked the braised pork while cooking, and the meat pieces were not formed. He simply boiled the marinade, held an iron spoon in his hand, pounded and turned it in the pot, and gradually, a pot of golden, fluffy things appeared in front of him.

In 1890, Lin Dingding resigned from his job as a chef and set up a meat floss workshop at the mouth of Guanglufang's Zaoti Lane, called "Ding Riyou".

In 1915, the meat floss made by Lin Dingding participated in the Panama International Exposition and won the gold medal. The famous naval admiral Sa Zhenbing once wrote "the first crispy meat velvet in Fujian, and the old brand of Baoding shocked the world".
