On April 29, the opening of the Chongqing Liangping-Sichuan Kaijiang Expressway (Chongqing Section) (hereinafter referred to as the Chongqing Section of the Liangkai Expressway) was held at the Baili Zhuhai Toll Station in Liangping District. The Chongqing section of the Liangkai Expressway has been opened to public vehicles from 24 o'clock on April 29, and the toll fee for the Chongqing section of the Liangkai Expressway is about 37 yuan (free passage during the upcoming "May Day" holiday).

According to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing High-speed Group and China Railway Construction Chongqing Investment Group, the project builder, the Chongqing section of Liangkai Expressway is located in the northeast of Chongqing, and the line is roughly southwest to northeast, starting from near Shilian Village, Yunlong Town, Liangping District. The wiring on the west side of the Xinsheng line ends at the Sichuan-Chongqing provincial boundary in the northeast of Xinsheng, and connects with the Sichuan section of the route.
The Chongqing section of the line is about 45.2 kilometers long, and is built according to the standard of two-way four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h. There are a total of 30 bridges on the whole line, 2 hubs of Shilian and Qihe, 4 toll stations of Yinping, Pingjin, Zhuhai and Xinsheng, and a Baili Zhuhai service area in Lirang Town.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Municipal Transportation Commission, the Liangkai Expressway is the first inter-provincial expressway jointly started between Sichuan and Chongqing since the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle was launched, and the construction officially started in February 2022.
After the completion and opening of the whole line, the driving time from Liangping in Chongqing to Kaijiang in Sichuan will be greatly shortened from the current 2 hours to about 40 minutes, which can effectively improve regional travel conditions, further improve the layout of the expressway network in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and increase the connection between Chongqing and Sichuan.
At the same time, the project will radiate more than 20 towns and villages in Liangping District, Chongqing City and Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 2,500 square kilometers and benefiting more than 1.5 million people, which is of positive significance for promoting the development of eco-tourism along the route, building a demonstration zone for the overall development of Wanda and Chongqing, and promoting the construction of a twin-city economic circle in Chengdu-Chongqing area.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation, Liangkai Expressway (Sichuan) is 30.4 kilometers long, and the construction of the whole line is nearing the end.
The remaining section of Liangkai Expressway (Sichuan) is speeding up construction and is expected to be completed in May, when a new Sichuan-Chongqing Expressway will be added!
