And on the side of the Russian media, some people even suggested that they should consider buying warships from China to quickly restore their strength. Doesn't that sound crazy? But to be honest, the story behind it is not a sentence or two.
First of all, let's talk about the plight of the Russian Navy. Back then, the Soviet Union's naval strength was one of the best in the world, but since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia seems to have lost its right-hand man, especially in shipbuilding technology, and they have not inherited all of the Soviet Union's wealth.
Ukraine, for example, has shipyards that were an important base during the Soviet era, and now Russia can't even build a decent frigate.
For example, the Project 22350 frigate took 12 years to put into service, and the landing ship "Ivan Glenn" took 14 years to be delivered.
Let's take a look at China, the improvement of naval strength in recent years is obvious to all. Type 052D missile destroyer, this warship is independently developed by us, and it is called a tough one in terms of performance.
It is equipped with an active phased array anti-aircraft fire control radar with a detection range of 400 kilometers and a detection capability of 150 kilometers for stealth targets.
This is much stronger than the SPY1 passive radar of the Burke-class destroyers of the United States, and the detection range of only 250 kilometers cannot deal with stealth targets.
Moreover, the firepower of 052D is also leveraged, with 64 vertical launch devices, which can launch YJ-ship missiles and Hongqi-9B anti-aircraft missiles, this firepower configuration, whether it is an attack on a ship or an air defense, is quite powerful.
Not to mention, the 052D can also be equipped with the YJ-21 hypersonic anti-ship missile, which is terrifying to opponents.
However, the question is, will China sell such advanced warships to Russia? This is not so simple.
As a country that adheres to neutrality, China will not easily violate international law by sending weapons to belligerents. Adherence to this principle is not only a safeguard of the international order, but also a manifestation of China's diplomatic wisdom.
China has always advocated the settlement of international disputes through peaceful dialogue, and will not fan the flames everywhere like some countries.
Speaking of which, I have to complain that the behavior of some countries in international affairs is really flattering. They always like to make small moves behind their backs and incite conflicts, which is simply adding to the blockage of world peace.
In contrast, China's approach is much more sophisticated, and we insist on win-win cooperation and solving problems through dialogue and negotiation.
But then again, while Russia's purchase of Chinese warships sounds a bit fanciful, it also reflects the current predicament facing the Russian Navy.
What they need is not only a few warships, but also what they need is to rebuild their shipbuilding industry and improve their independent research and development capabilities. This is not a task that can be accomplished overnight, and it requires long-term commitment and effort.
