In 1983, "Mochou Girl", starring Zhu Shuizhao, the eldest daughter of Zhu Shuizhao, one of the "Ten Sisters of Yue Opera" and the artistic successor of the "Zhu School" of Yue Opera, was made into a movie by Nanjing Film Studio. After the film was released, it was well received by the majority of Yue Opera fans.
The film tells the story of Shaoqing's daughter who was sold by the government to the Zhongshan Mansion as a slave by her father, and was named Mochou by her son Xu Cheng and became a companion. The two are in love with each other day by day, and they are privately determined for life. After the old lady found out, she put Mo Chou in a cold room, and forced Xu Cheng to marry Miss Qiu Xiangfu Caiyun. The ruthless Qiu Caiyun played all the conspiracy and coerced the imperial doctor to add human eyes as medicine to the prescription, so as to persecute Mo Chou, causing Mo Chou and Xu Cheng to die for love. The film has a strong cast, with Zhu Xiaozhao as Xu Cheng, Lin Tingting as Mo Chou, Fan Jianping as Qiu Caiyun, Zheng Jiaqin as Lao Taijun, Zhang Xiaoxiao as the imperial doctor, and Yue Opera stars Tao Qi and Zhang Yunfeng making cameo appearances in the film.

Zhu Xiaozhao perfectly interprets the tragic character image of the son Xu Cheng, she not only inherits the singing characteristics and performance style of her mother Zhu Shuizhao, but also absorbs the Yin school singing voice to enrich herself.
