A surge of anger welled up in my heart, recalling the cruel treatment I had been given by my mother-in-law in the past. I don't have the slightest sympathy in my heart for her pleading.
However, as a daughter-in-law, I was still faced with a moral and responsible choice. I struggled inwardly whether I should go back to my mother-in-law and take care of her, or stand my ground and not bow down to her evil deeds?
When I hesitated, I began to think about my mother-in-law's words and deeds. Perhaps, her current plea is not from the heart, but because of the difficulty of her own situation. I understand that hatred does not solve the problem, and letting go of resentment may open another door.
I decided to give my mother-in-law a chance to show my tolerance and kindness. I would go to the hospital, take care of her, and do everything I could to help her through this. Because, no matter what happened in the past, I still believe that there is a force of kindness and tolerance in human nature.
Perhaps, this choice will change our relationship, or it may bring about unexpected changes. But I would like to believe that a sincere kindness is enough to resolve past grievances and rebuild a relationship of respect and understanding.
At this moment, I am willing to give my mother-in-law a chance, and also give myself a chance to experience the power of tolerance and kindness. May we be able to walk through this difficult time together, resolve the contradictions between each other, and move towards a better future together.
