Recently, a ceremony was held at Grand Prince Shin-Takanawa in Minato-ku, Tokyo to present the 2023 Mizuno Sports Award and the Mizuno Sports Contributor Award.
Thirteen people received the Mizuno Sports Award for coaches and directors who have contributed to various sports. In the table tennis world, Daisuke Ishida (Japan Table Tennis Association/Japan Life Insurance Mutual Table Tennis Club Coach) was selected as the winner.
Mr. Daisuke Ishida was selected as the recipient of this award for his comprehensive support for Hina Hayata's (Nippon Life) in physical management and nutrition management, both at home and abroad. At the commendation ceremony, Ishida received a trophy and an additional prize of 500,000 yen.

Hina Hayata, a member of the Japanese table tennis team at the Paris Olympics, was born in Kitakyushu and has grown into a Japanese women's table tennis ace.
Hina Hayada started playing table tennis at the age of 4 at Ishida Table Tennis N+ in Kitakyushu City. At first, Coach Ishida's mother, Chieko, taught her the basics and fun, and then her father, Masayuki, taught her, and she quickly became famous.
When Hayada was in her third year of junior high school, Coach Daisuke Ishida took over Hayada from his family and worked together to develop her into one of the world's top players, and the members of Hina Hayata's team also provided him with comprehensive training and support.
Reflecting on the past 20 years, Coach Ishida said, "To be honest, I was very happy when I received this award. Hina started playing rackets at the age of 4 and since then, her father, mother and brother have mentored her for 10 years. And then I took over the last 10 years or so. It was supposed to be Sheena's father and mother who were supposed to win the award, and I was the one who represented Sheena (at the award ceremony). For the past 20 years, we, along with the Ishida family, have been following Sheena's efforts, and everyone says that Sheena's efforts are truly remarkable. I think the most important thing is Sheena's continuous hard work, as well as the meticulous care of Sheena's family, which made me win this award. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Japan Table Tennis Association for giving us a chance to challenge ourselves on the world stage. ”
The award is also a deeply emotional honor for me. Coach Daisuke Ishida was an employee of Mizuno until about nine years ago. He has also attended past award ceremonies as an attendee, but has since resigned from the company to focus on serving as Hayata's exclusive coach.
For this, he said: "I think I was well prepared at the time. Because I really liked the company I worked for, I was ready to quit when I left. My life can't be full of regrets, I hope I don't give up, my determination is stronger than anyone else,"
Coach Daisuke Ishida is determined to blossom and bear fruit in Paris in the middle of summer, with the help of Hina Hayata, an apprentice whom he has spent precious and irreplaceable time in his life.
